The custodian at my school use to take me around to help him out. I was a troubled kid, and he would just talk to me, I'd help sweep etc. It helped keep me out of at least some trouble.

I've met more than a few Nigerians in my life. They are all incredible people. Very kind and caring people.
James, you deserve every good thing that happens you. And may the darkness run in fear from the light that you shine from within.

Just goes to show that in America (and probably other places too) that it doesn't matter where your from…..it's the content of your character that people value. It's truly awesome that the kids did this for him. So kudos to them, and of course, kudos to the officer who made those connections with the students that made them notice and care about him as a person.

@rbesfe

imagine paying essential security staff so little that they can't afford a trip to visit their family once in over 10 years

God Bless this man! Wouldn't this world be wonderful if we all loved people like these college kids.

Awesome story. Take notes people, this is how you human.

A great story for him to get the chance to see his family, also a bunch of students who care about someone else besides themselves!

Security guards for the most part are always amazing people, I form here in Rutgers and we have an amazing guard. He’s always in a good mood, idk how he does it but it’s always dope to see him interact with us and our foolishness Lol

Lovely, tears rolling down here.

"Custodial Staff is so underpaid they can't afford to take a holiday to visit family in a whole decade and need to rely on crowdfunding just to travel home"
