Much prefer an IV somewhere in my forearm. If you go for that spot you're suggesting, for me, personally it makes it so that I can't close my hand fully and I find it causes my hand to swell up.

Man I was just helping a tech learn to start IV’s the other day and I had such mixed emotions
On the one hand it’s like, everyone starts somewhere, man. Ability takes time. Nobody starts out as a pro.
On the other hand, this dude was really fuckin bad at it and I was like ah geez man this might not be for you. You’re somehow starting at less than zero. It’s actually kind of scary to watch.

Also some lab results can be altered by leaving the tourniquet on for too long.
Never learned about bifurcation in nursing school. We did an IV insertion but this info was not given. Thank you.
For me, either an IO or my port. I have absolutely no veins.
Use heat. Any kind of heat. Heating pad. Hot water compress. Hot blanket.
