I really hope I'm wrong here but I can't help but feel this will end up the same as the Mexican cartel that is made up of ex-Mexican special forces that were trained by US Special Forces. I can see it happening especially if they get left high and dry by Mogadishu, or feel like they have.

Gorgor brigades are more trained than Danab, they are more loyal to the Somalia ministry of defence than their USA trained counterpart,….

Siad Barres years were the best years in Somali History. In just 15 years Somalia became one of the richest, most educated, healthiest countries in Africa due to Siad Barres staunch belief in communism.
They secularised the country, gave women their freedom and pretty much got rid of the clan system (whichever was and is Somalias biggest obstacle).
Somalia used to liberate other African countries like Zimbabwe and South Africa (gave the freedom fighters training and weapons) and send FOOD AID to Arab countries like Saudi Arabia.
The war with Ethiopia was only lost due to Ethiopia shitting themselves and declaring that they’re communists, which made cuba and Soviet union hate Somalia and send TROOPS to Ethiopia to save a “socialist” country, because the cold war was going on.

Danab was never established 2013, Somali national army had three special forces units (gorgor, dufan and the danab which you are talking now) in 1964 Ethiopian attacked Somalia and we had not good armies just 2000 soldiers and 4 tanks most of them from police, so Somalia talked with the soviets and soviets said we will help you to train officers and special forces training instructors, that instructors are those who established danab in 1960s in 13 years the Somali national army led by danab and gorgor waged war against Ethiopia and in less than 6months they had conquered all Somali region in Ethiopia and half of Oromo region until the soviets Libya Cuba and Yemen join the war siding with Ethiopia and Somali got defeated.
Danab was long existing before 2013 and they were one of the africas best special forces.

i'm glad operations in somalia has taken a purely special operations strategy with minimal conventional involvement. this is the way iraq and afghanistan should've been fought in entirety. i only hope danab can function without larger assets like artillery and close-air in the long-term, or at least, steps are taken to develop in-house assets.
i hope more of these kinds of units can be propped up successfully. multi-tribe, meritocratic, but most of all, true believers.
I am somali and I really feel bad for my people if we can just stop (islam and its arabization,tribals,and hatred toward others) but sooner or later they will understand.

20January 2023 was the worst day in the history of Danab and a day I will never forget. We lost 43 soldiers and our dear brother commander Hassan, one of most beloved soldiers of our country, in the town of Galcad. The unit is not trained to hold lands but the Somali government are total inept and sent 2 single batallions to area manned by thousands of extremists with better fire power than Danab and unfriendly locals
Meanwhile Al shabaab is still active in 2/3 in the Country. Remember afghanstan case😂

A lot of inaccurate information being provided for starters Somalia’s independence was in 1960 not 1950 , their are Turkish trained elite forces called Gorgor who have in the past year and half clear the most territory they deserve recognition, speaker phrased it as Türkiye was training units within in Danab that’s false Türkiye has its own military training base that provides training to Gorgor many more things I can point out your information is either outdated or just incorrect the same with the Somalia Ethiopia MOU video please look for the most up to date and correct information for your viewers we don’t appreciate misinformation being spread about our country
US trained is nothing in Arab world. We all saw how Iraq army surrendered enmass to ISIS and were all executed during the Caliphate.
You give a very good introduction on Somalia war. But one important point you fail to mention and give credit to in fighting the Alshabab and restoring law and order in Somali is the Kenyan Army under the operation "Linda Nchi" commisioned by the former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki which worked hand in hand woth Somalia Army. This was latter backed by the African union soldiers ubder the operation AMISON (African Mission in Somali). Also remember the US Army terribly failed in Somalia in the Blackhawk down, the real heroes and warriors of the war are the Kenyan Army, Somali Army and AMISON, the US joined the party when all the bad guys (alshabab) had been dealt with.

The same offer was given to #Somaliland and Somaliland said we will figure out our security issues on our but we will accept rebuilding and food aid, the UN mission president said it's a package 📦 deal, in response Somaliland said keep your package and don't ever come back to Somaliland otherwise they'll think we apart of your UN mandate in that failed State of Somalia hahaha eh once you realize any foreign troops anywhere in this world 🌎 means we will keep you in the same status until i take every resources I wanted for free 😂

One quick nitpick about grammar. Sharia means "Law". So when you say "Sharia Law" you are saying "Law Law". The correct way to use this term would be "This group imposes a harsh form of Sharia in all the areas it controls". Most journalists do this and it's incorrect usage. See the difference with the US? At the height of its power it never bullied other countries. Instead, it’s provided training, $, food, and other resources. Of course not without our faults as well.
I find it immensely pathetic how incredibly unmotivated and pitiful US-trained Afghanistan forces were, they were beyond cowardly even when they were far better equipped than the Taliban. Somalia is in a worse state and their US-trained personnel are leagues above Afghanistan, why is that?
Having units like MARSOC and the Green Berets and sometimes the SEALs helping Danab is really cool to see

Danab (lightening) is a fiece Somali commando units that existed in Somali National Army long before civil war. The US revived and trained them… They are living to their name together with even deadlier Turkish trained Gorgor(Eagle) units.
The best somali army are trained by Turkey.
The Americans are helping alshabab and Isis.
Danab (lightening) Brigade is one of the most important forces in Somalia and now they are participating an operation going on many regions in Somalia.
Also Gorgor Brigade Turkish trained forces is helping us get some peace since the operation commenced in 2022.
Well done to America for giving them the training and tools for the job (weapons) but my only gripe is why can't they give them some body armour and the type of body armour with the Ciramic plate (not the Russian one with a steal plate as a AK round will go through) so that they are better protected. USA please please start sending them body armour! 🏴🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸👍🇸🇴
