  1. You have obviously no idea how expensive it is to bring up children in Spain. Everything has to be paid privately – kindergarden, school, university – nothing is for free.
And finally there is no support from the state for the parents, there is nothing like kindergeld as it is in Germany.

  2. 2:59 Dont believe a word of this, they want you to believe it, so they can import more immigrants from North Africa!!! About not having water enough, i got this to say, Spain should have invested long time in mega-desalination plants along his looong costline!! There would never be a water shortage, but that's NOT wat they want because now water prizes can go up up up…

  3. If young people live at home until age 30 in Spain and can not get viable work despite free college then why would they be in a position to have kids? Maybe these young people need better job opportunities? Compared to the USA it is a lot more expensive to raise children here since we do not get help with daycare, college , healthcare unless you qualify as low income. I think drinking water is a lot more important than swimming pools when you have a beach available.

  4. You have no help or support whatsoever to raise children in Spain. A woman is likely to get sacked when pregnant. It's illegal but how many illegal things happen. It seems that immigrants can get help though . For the locals, you get family support or nothing at all. No job and a very expensive time consuming task.

  5. AI has already been here for years. Just on a minor scale. There’s no stopping it, just like cell phones instead of rotary hard wired phones, etc.. It’s better to stay ahead of over-control by AI than to let it just happen without controls. Then it may be too late.

  6. Hi hope you are well, our community are on about charging people who rent their apartments out an extra 20% on fees for the year and are claiming it a new law ! Do you know anything about this ?

  7. To turn this around, Spain will need to invest billions of dollars in water infrastructure, especially groundwater management and recharge facilities. They may as well get started now, or become third world. Ultimately the country needs to start electing people that have a long term vision for Spain, and have the talent and skills to run the economy.

  8. Ahhh…..viagra trafficking….must be " hard" to prevent, especially from supposedly " upstanding members " of the community.😁. ( Sorry, couldnt resist) 😂

  9. Hi Stuart, Always really enjoy your excellent broadcasts. I have just experienced importing a 2009 Audi from the UK , it ended up costing 5200 euros in total , because the UK ,is no longer part of the European Union we pay more than other European countries in customs import duties The final blow was that I had to have all the window tinting removed as it is not allowed in Spain ! I used a specialist importer and had a couple of other quotes all roughly the same price , my advice is to make sure you get an estimate and make sure the car you are importing is low mileage and in good mechanical condition beforehand.

  10. The second-hand car market is a nightmare, my step father purchased a car from a dealer in fuengirola, the car broke down nearly every time they drove it, they took it back to the dealer who just filled it up with head gasket gunk, turns out the car had a cracked block and they spent a further €2500 in repairs where the new mechanic ripped them off by miss diagnosing a head gasket fault, in total they lost 5k and have no car to show for it. Seriously, buyers beware in spain, I am a mechanic myself, and I have seen some dodgy stuff, but spain was a real culture shock when it comes to the second-hand car market 😳and the prices are laughable.

  11. Some reasons why young people choose not to have children are, though not limited to; economical insecurity, political corruption, what shcools are teaching kids, threat of a world war, the fact infertility is an increasing issue (look to adopt, folks, it's many children out there needing love and care), the way family values are slowly but surely whithering away, and fear for climate change.

This is some of the reasons which is very easy to do a search on too.
