Will the US presents turn it into an immigrant target? IT could be inundated by refugees escaping suppression and draining the Somaliland economy in and Americ abase is installed. There will be jobs there. The strategic value of a base there is obvious but the biggest obstacle I see is Egypt. But they always need money and may be bought. Already opportunities for Trump to increase American influence.

You are wrong. The privious regime of siyad barre signed an agreement with the americans in 1986. Sitad barre gave the berbera militery base to the americans for 109 yrs. Since 1991 when the civil war started the americans were using the base. And now the americans are coming to get the base that was given to them. In return the USA used to pay $100 million dollars in return.

I have been there and met the President. Went all over Somaliland. Never felt more safe in my life! Nice port with beatiful unused airt right next to it.
