Shericka Jackson On Withdrawing From The 100m At Paris Olympics 2024

Shericka Jackson was asked at a @PUMA event whether she was disappointed that she withdrew from the 100m in Paris.

She says she’s not necessarily upset, but looking to hone in on the 200m and prepare mentally for the shift in her schedule.

I missed the Jamaican Queens of the track Mrs. Fraser-Pryce, Miss Jackson, and Mrs. Thompson- Herah, but take y'all time and heal mentally, physically or just rest up. Mrs. Fraser- Pryce ENJOY retirement! I hope you became a track analyst and continue to help popularize the sport even more.

It’s Quite clear that three Jamaican ladies were barred from running. After Jacksons season last year I suspect PED’s are the reason. Fraser-Pryce has previously tested positive. The excuse of injury, which Thompson and Pryce already used last year, doesn’t convince me. Jamaica will not be treated as favourably as they have for the past 15 years, they will have to compete on an equal footing.

Arm chair critics' that couldn't run this race if a bear was after them. This level of competition requires a mind/body synch to even be in the game. From individual events to relays—I love to watch the amazing women of track and field. And the men's events. The women and men are an amazing group of athletes—we could learn a lot from them.

She did what was BEST for her! I missed watching her this Olympics, though. Smart athletes take care of themselves 1st! As an American, our people talked so negatively about Biles when she withdrew, but I love how the Jamaicans are very supportive of her. WAY TO GO JAMAICA!

You and Shelly Ann wasted your opportunities! It should have given to others who are willing to fight til the end despite any hurdles that come their way. If you cant then give your spot to others who deserve it!
