  1. This houses are ancestral and have been passed down for generations. The solution is not building houses in every single space in Nairobi. There are thousands of Acres of free government land & it is very suspicious they want to remove citizens living in prime areas. There are government houses in Mathare , Kariobangi and huruma but they just want prime land.

  2. But why should people be given priority when they have lived their from their grandparents, time to let other people also enjoy fruits of independence. Also urban renewal is not demolition of older houses which should be preserved for historical values!

  3. Yaani so many of you here don’t care if fellow Kenyans suffer and become homeless. Where are people from a whole 7 estates expected to go to find other housing? Ruto should build housing elsewhere then move the people in instead of evicting Kenyans bila plan. Watch and see what happens to the new housing, it’s likely that very few of the original residents will be able to go back to their estates. And because there will be resistance, wait and see how whole estates will be burned to the ground, and the Collateral damage. History repeats itself.

  4. The whole of Nairobi will be turned into a ghetto. Look at eastlands with unplanned flats. It's just chaos. Land grabbers just waiting to acquire and take every space left. Even nice masionettes in places like Lavington and it's environs will all disappear.

  5. With the shambolic manner in which we undertake programs and projects…..do not be surprised that the fate of all these will be but the creation of a fresh layer of slum dwelling!!

  6. Here in UK we have houses as old as 300-500yrs old houses which the county council maintain as they continue building others in various spaces in the UK. White people do not trouble their citizens. Build new estates, then move these people into the new ones. Then repair, renovate and maintain the old ones for the purpose of house other people at a cheaper rate. To build new houses you do not have to demolish the old ones. Acquire land elsewhere and build new houses for your citizens. This is my take.

  7. The guy who is standing in ziwani house number 38 is my father's long time friend and our neighbors too he's called (mongolo). My grandfather lived in ziwani, heft behind the house to my father and now I'm the owner of the house and I'm a landlord too, stop talking I'll about our matrimonial homes, you don't know the joy and happy moments we had in these house, tunapanda hadi mboga hapa kwetu, hatutaki gorafa tafadhali, achana na nyumba zetu 😂😂

  8. The government should build one or two affordable flats in phases, move the families there instead of misplacing families not knowing where to start from in this difficult times
