However, you were incorrect dtho. Yoruba has a lot of meals, yes, maybe not so many soups (also not true). Soups don’t mean food. Some tribes claim to have many soups but eat all of the soups with mostly garri and akpu! Yoruba gave us amala, iyan, ifokore, amugido, asaro all from yam! Also gave us fufu, different versions of ‘eba’, lafun, pupuru from cassava! Same Yoruba gave us ogi, eko akasu, ekuru, egbo etc from corn!
If you still claim Yoruba doesn’t have food, you should think again….
In fact, if I list soups for you, you’ll be surprised. The easterners mostly name their soups by the leaves and contents, whereas Yoruba names her soups by the process! If Yoruba names only “efo riro” by the leaves they use, then efo riro will have hundred names…… I mean, we use different kinds of leaves and still name it same efo riro!
For instance, the difference between ofe olugbu and ofe oha is the leaves used…..
