  1. Crazy how this did the idea of a Scream TV series better than the actual Scream series (I've only seen season one of the Scream series).

Also, Scream Queen DBD collab when? Folks would probably pay big bucks to main Chanel and just let her get hooked.

  2. I’m so glad other people appreciate SQ the way I do! It can be very cringe at times, but it’s so silly and ridiculous. The characters are all so memorable even years after watching & I will never forget Chanel’s missive. Also the Backstreet’s Back segment lives rent free in my mind. I really need to do a rewatch…

  3. Actually, the scene in the pilot of the pledges being buried up to their necks in the backyard is NOT a reference to Heathers. It’s a reference to a nearly identical scene in Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989), wherein transsexual serial psychopath Angela Baker buries the lazy camp director Lilly up to her neck and then runs over her head with a lawnmower.

Furthermore, the death of Ms. Bean (NOT Mrs. Bean) is a reference to a identical scene in Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (1988) – which stars iconic scream queens Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens and Michelle Bauer – wherein a young man gets his face dipped into a deep fryer.

Adding to the inherently racist culture the show depicts, the term “red devil” used to refer to Native Americans and many schools with a “Red Devil” as their mascot depicted them with an incredibly racist representation.

  4. what an incredible video!!!! I feel the exact same way about scream queens, I was also in my teens when it first came out and was absolutely floored to see what was in my mind, a combination of american horror story and glee 🙂‍↕️ loll I loved it so much and am yet to fully revisit it as an adult but this video was the perfect reminder and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on season two! 🥰🙌

  5. I love your reflections at the end! I feel the same way about other Ryan Murphy projects too, and it's nice to be able to acknowledge both the good and the bad that came from his shows. I cannot wait for season 2!!
