IN a few months, Ghana heads for the polls and as usual, the call for peace across the country has grown increasingly urgent.

And it is not surprising that in times like this, artistes tend to release songs bearing the message of peace to sensitise the electorate.

Joining the chorus of voices advocating for calm and harmony during this crucial period is rising musician, Selasi Aklotsoe Mensah, known in the music circles as Samkat.

His latest single, All I Want to Say preaches peace and emphasises the importance of addressing conflicts through dialogue instead of resorting to violence.

Through the song, Samkat articulates a vision of resolution and unity, reflecting his belief that jaw-jawing is key to navigating the challenges of the election season and beyond.

Produced by SS Media, All I Want to Say adopts an Afro-Dancehall style with a poetic touch and conveys its powerful message in several languages, including Hausa, Twi, Ewe, English and Ga.

Talking to Graphic Showbiz, Samkat shared his inspiration behind the song.

“With many African countries, including Ghana, gearing up for elections, calls for peace across the continent have become critical. I believe my song does justice to this cause,” he said.

All I Want to Say encourages listeners to love thy neighbour, speak truth to power respectfully, and enjoy the fruit of their labour. We must all endeavour to choose peace,” he added.

Known for his distinctive fusion of Reggae, Hiplife and Afro-Dancehall, Samkat is also known for other songs such as Aye Din, Passing Through and Love.
