Salara (Rollie): A flavored bread filled with red sweetened coconut

Salara which is also known as “rollie” is a Guyanese pastry consisting of a sweetened bread with a sweet coconut filling that is typically dyed red. It’s called rollie because it’s a rolled loaf that when sliced reveals swirls of vibrant red coconut which makes for a nice presentation.
