Truth be said Prof you seem to be biased. Every President who has provided troops has done so in securing minerals provided to them as individuals not states. Proof of that is there hence backing Mnangagwa on previous lost elections for the same reasons by the same group of presidents

Kagame caused the genocide in Rwanda after shooting down the then hutu Presidents plane and killing both Rwandan and burundian Presidents; he then put it all on the back of the hutu bantu people of Rwanda, since then he's been killing hutu civilians like no mans business, causing 8 million deaths in Congo, killing UN peacekeepers, looting congo minerals, causing a humanitarian catastrophe in the region; threatening the whole SADC; He even once threatened the life of the then Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete. Even Burundi has once complained that he was supporting rebels and harbouring coup plotters that wanted to topple the then Burndian President. As if thats not enough his police even once killed ethnic tutsi nyamulenges in the refugee camp in Rwanda, the group he claims to protect. What kind of human is he that he evades the international systems and get away with all that. An international tribunal has to be set up to look into these crimes

SADC is not the right platform to discuss this. Prof Mandaza is right – Kagame is the agitator in that region; it is he that benefits most from the conflict with Uganda in support (and he can hide behind pursuing 1994 genocidiers, and the EU/US will not sanction him because of their hangover embarrassments for not doing enough in 1994 ).

So how can this be a SADC matter?!

This is an AU discussion now because the EAC is clearly captured by Kagame…and therefore no sobriety remains in that grouping because they’re all benefiting from the instability in the Eastern DRC.

A SADC meeting is yet more much-ado-about-nothing! Especially since really only South Africa is contributing meaningful resources in the peacekeeping mission (where are Angola, Namibia, Botswana’s forces?)

The AU must step in now, and decisively!

What does it cost to the "Professor" to do a little bit more digging in this issue and provide a much more balanced view of the situation!! This kind of analysis is full of intellectual laziness and can only continue to exacerbate more confusion and misinformation of the current conflict.

Professor, I hope the funds you’ve consumed don’t choke you as SADC forces fight alongside the FDLR, while you conveniently blame it on “mines.” Rwanda has no mines? That’s a blatant lie, Rwanda produces tin, coltan, tungsten, and even gold from mines in Rutongo, Ngororero, Nyakabingo, and beyond. Your narrative is not just false, it’s diabolical. Rwandaphone people are not going anywhere. I’m Kenyan, and I’m heading to the border to stand with the M23 against you neo-colonial puppets. I respect my South African brothers and sisters, but your corrupt leaders are steering you down the wrong path.

There is no way that Kagame is going to stop. Stealing the DRC's mineral resources is the only way he can sustain Rwanda's economy and therefore retain power as president for life. Of South Africa's nine provinces, Rwanda's GDP is only greater than that of the Northern Cape.

we stand with DRC. This is what is happening in congo: Just because they call themselves Congolese doesn't mean they are . There has never been any tribe called Banyamurenge in congo . These are the refugees who ran from civil war in Rwanda. Congo accepted them as refugee with compassion. Now when Laurent Desire Kabila toppled Mobutu, he was aided militarily by Rwanda and Burundi, then when He got the power he said to his allies to go back to their countries for their payments will be respected but they in turn didn't want to go back to their countries that is why their went to hide among the refugees in the eastern part of the congo and started the war. When they started they weren't strong until all the west superpowers got behind Rwanda and wished to keep the instability going so that they can continue to loot the DRCongo . Now After a very long time, this group feels empowered enough and start laying claims of that side of the country of congo as their own share of land . this is insane , if that that Land was poor in resource they wouldn't have done that ! M23 has never been Congolese
