  1. Ruger? So they put this rifle in a fancy tactical style stock. Let's skip the stock eyewash and talk about the gun. Apparently, it's just an ordinary rimfire rifle with ordinary accuracy. You can't dress a pig.

  2. I was getting 1 inch groups at 100 yards today with Eley match in my RPR with a Bushnell Match Pro. I was honestly impressed. Def feel like the gun is a good deal for the money plus I have a whole mess load of 10/22 mags anyway. CCI standard velocity could not compete with Eley at 100 yards, at least not in my gun.

  3. There is an impressive 22lr precision rifle and steel match fallowing at my rifle club after attending a match I decided to get into the BR factory class 22lr rifle
Due to its cost I seriously considered the RAR Precision 22lr but three members of my club have them and all three guys told me the RAR Precision was just to inconsistently inaccurate to even be considered for precision 22lr and they were using 22lr ammo in the $10-$12 a box as far as ammo quality went.
After a BUTT load of research my choices were between the CZ457 MTR and a Bergara B14r and a fellow member of my club let me shoot his save for a AM 3oz trigger otherwise 100% factory B14R at 50 yards with SK Pistol Match Special ($10-$13/box) and it shot ridiculously well Im talking in the .4s and high .3s at 50 yards so $975 later I had a B14r steel barrel version and it has performed superly well for me.

  4. Does go to show that some rifles really like certain ammunition and hate others… I have had such good luck with all of the s k ammunition… I picked up a matching lot of pistol match and that has been my tried and tested for the past year shooting around .420 to .440 on average at 50 and will hold moa at 100 without issues!

  5. Stealing from previous, do you have comparison data on SDs and ES for any of the same ammo shot from the shorter bbl vs the 26"? Great post- thank you

  6. Good video – I like you content. I managed to shoot a 6X5 of .370" aggregate at 50 yards with my stock RPRimfire using RWS match. The RWS Match shot better then the Special Match, but it had an ES of 51!. I tried the RPR in a PRS competion but it was a disappointment and haven't used it since. But for hauling around in the truck and shooting gophers, it is a great gun for the money.

  7. I also have a Shaw barrel on my RPR. It shoots SK Semi-Auto Rifle really well – actually slightly better than Standard Plus, which is great considering the difference in cost. I'm hoarding as much of that ammo I can find. Today I shot 90 rounds in 5 shot groups and only one over MOA at .54. The best was a large hole at .135. For the money it has been a fun gun to shoot.

  8. Thanks for bringing back the RPR and taking another look at it. Still on the fence about the one I own, but you provided similar results I have achieved with my sample. Cary on 😎

  9. I had two of these and neither one would consistently shoot sub MOA groups, even with a Shaw barrel. I'd get a 0.60" group, then 0.78", 0.54", 1.22", 1.09" and then a 0.44" with CCI SV. SK Rifle Long Range was the best and averaged 0.52" but still wasn't consistently sub MOA. Sold it and bought a CZ457 and it will perform sub MOA with Wolf Match Target, Lapua Center-X, SK Rifle and SK Long Range. Very happy with it's performance and all of your help getting me there!

Also, I grabbed an Arken SH-4J based on your recent video and am really liking it. So much that I will likely get 1 or 2 more of them.

  10. Have you ever tried measuring the rim thickness of the ammo it likes and then tring other ammo brands and lots that are close to that thickness? I just started to use my rim measurement gauge and I'm looking for more ideas to get better use from it.

  11. Machine gun kelly. Come on factory stock production rifle. It's just not gonna shoot as good as a custom rifle. People get their butt cracks hurt for nothing.

  12. Just bought one on Saturday. Believe it or not, it loved the Norma Tac-22, and CCI MiniMag. Shot both just under .5" groups at 50 yards. Did not like any of the Eley that I threw at it.

  13. I bought one of these a couple of years ago on clearance at Academy + a 10% Veteran's discount. Think I paid $300. I have done a few things to mine. I removed the big spring in the trigger, replaced both action screws, fixed the head space and added a Harrell's screw on tuner. It actually likes Eley SABR. A 10 shot group at 100 yds was a little less than .750". I may play with it some more this spring. BTW my new Bergara B14R really shoots well, unlike my first one.
