  1. i'm currently debating between on to get the gen 2 in 762×39 or find a different rifle in 308. I held the gen 2 today, and it felt like it was made for me and its hard not to think that picking a different gun would be a mistake

  2. They show 20" for .270 and .300win mag in the catalog ??? C'mon ruger! If we wanted our 300win to perform like a .308 with way more noise we'd just buy a .308 and shoot it without hearing protection. Super disappointed!!!!

  3. I have a question for you’ as a new suppressor owner.

    This is my theory,

Should you air out your suppressor after each shot to see where the next shots will hit since typically when you’re hunting’ your first shot is the one you’d adjust your crosshairs for not the following shots which may change after the first round thru the can? Generally my luck has been good for one shot one kill and that’s the one I’d want to be sighted in for. I hope this makes sense .

  4. Just got mine today in 7mm08. The dnz reeper one piece mount for the gen 1 does fit so they kept the same factory mount. 3x9x50 leupold with cds mounted so hopefully we can see how she does.

  5. I had some issues in one of my Ruger American rifles with weak springs in the flush fit magazine, so I'm happy to see that they went with the AICS style mags even if they don't sit flush. I also like that it now has a three position safety that locks the bolt. There have been times when I've spotted a deer only to find the the gun would not fire as the bolt had been bumped up just a tad. I just ordered one of these Gen 2 models in .308 and can't wait for it's arrival.

  6. I think I just thought of a brilliant business opportunity thanks to Ruger. I’m going to make 2-4” barrel extensions that fit the contour and rifling of the new Ruger American so everyone can stop complaining about the “short” 20” barrel that’s likely loosing about 50fps of velocity…sub 500 yards it’s a nonissue.

  7. I think I could get over the actual magazine not being flush but Ruger’s mag release seems to be in a bad spot. There are other rifles that use this style magazine and have a better release design. It hangs down past the trigger guard and just seems like it’s waiting to get broken.

  8. Great video, love the down to earth approach, I’m not a fan of the 20 inch barrel but who knows maybe I’ll change my mind when I get my hands on one. Keep coming with the good videos 😎

  9. What size scope rings did you use? I’m looking to put the Arken epl-4 6-24×50 on my Ruger American gen2 rifle as well. I was thinking about the Arken cantilever 20 moa mount or the 0 moa cantilever mount. Not sure which one to get, but want a 1/4 inch or less from the barrel after mounting. Thanks and love watching your videos

  10. Aics style mags are wayyyyyy better the flush fit…ruger prob had a million complaints about them. Might get a gen 2 for a budget gun but im pretty die hard tikka myself for a production gun.

  11. All your guns like Remington corelocks… none of mine like them…. my ruger american in 308 loves barns 168g… I'm starting to think remington is in your pocket..lol

  12. Been looking to get new bolt gun. I don't mind the shorter barrel, as I really don't shoot at extreme distances. Was just thinking, I would make that into a modern obrez. It has a sporter look to it.

  13. Maybe theyll do a long range/vatminter line of these eventually in the common short action and Magnum calibers.
With longer barrels that are measured up to where the rifling ends. You know boltface to true muzzle.
And offer a more vertical grip area on those specific stocks.
Maybe even use the Magpul AI pattern magazines?
I'm thinking a rifle more economical than the Ruger Precision with a traditional target look.

  14. Do you ever do a " break in"? Break in term is used loosely. I like to think of it as a barrel seasoning than a break in. I just got a Howa 1500 and they recommend 1 shot clean to 10 shots and 2 shots clean on the next 10.

  15. Hey Who Tee Who. I really dig your channel. I wanted to know how hard it was to get the muzzle brake off of the new Ruger American. I recently bought a Ruger MPR ar15 that came with that style of muzzle brake on it and I had a crazy hard time getting it off. If those are cranked on that hard and loctited that much that might steer me away from buying one. Thanks.
