To answer a few comments, I bought this gun with my own money. I don’t even know a single employee at Ruger. I've never even had contact with anyone at Ruger's marketing department.
But, a few words about how I do work with companies. I have the same deal with all gun companies. Sometimes I buy guns shown on the channel, other times they are sent to me. I appreciate it when companies send me guns because it helps me to be able to make content for you. If they send one, it means I'm going to show it on the channel, but I tell them clearly up front that it may or may not be positive. As you can see in literally every gun review I've ever done, I talk about the positives AND the negatives–just like in this video. Gun companies do not ever PAY me for reviews. All they can do is provide guns for me to evaluate.
It needs at least a normalish lenth barrel. Why would you want your .300 win to perform like a .308. Can you imagine how loud a 20" barrel with a muzzlebrake will be. Ruger screwed us on this one
Dude I didnt know you and the wife where ice swingers
Just Love your viedo'S Would you do one on the savage/stevens 334 243 cal. Thanks Rodger
What after market trigger would you recommend? When will the backstops for the gen 2 be ready. Will your wife let you test tge gen 2 in a 6.5 creedmore? I am still looking at that Sig cross.
It equals my older Ruger American in 308 but doesn't outdoo it, and mine has a 22 inch tube.
Curious ruger says the barrel is 20 inches and overall length is 41.5 inches. Is the barrel a true 20 inches by itself without the break on it or does the break make it 20 inches with a true barrel length of 18 inches? I want to get a 400 legend to hunt my straight walled state ide likely take the brake off but like a 20 inch barrel the ruger predator is coming out with a 22 inch barrel. I really don’t like the grey stock on the standard, the brown ranch and green predator are more intresting
Does the magpul ruger American stock fit the gen 2?
You should look into the Savage 110 trail hunter! That’s the real budget king!!!
Those Hogue overmolded stocks are notorious for bending into barrels when shooting off bipod or anything. I had a rem 700 with that stock and couldn't get consistent shot placement.
First time watching and I'm usually a critical bastard. Fun to watch and hit all the points necessary info wise to help a guy make an informed decision. So that being said subscribed. Keep up good work
It’s not that budget guns can’t shoot, they all can… but the more expensive guns generally come more refined and with better features.
Looks like they raised the price, $729 now
Editing in your car? Or want to show off your car?
Be sure to drink your Ovaltine! Ovaltine? A crummy commercial?
I can't find a CVA Cascade XT or the Ruger American Gen 2 in left handed. Am i missing something?
I'd like to see what you do with it in 6.5 cm
I hope that’s the mother in laws car on the driveway! 😝
What ammo did you use, need this info, can change everything
Instantly buying the 6 ARC as soon as it hits shelves
Emily hollering "take it back", Jim laughing uncontrollably, while running away, Emily chasing…absolute GOLD! Thanks guys for the hardcore belly laugh, love it!
On la veut en France
How would you rate it next to a Tikka t3X?
I have the gen 1 that takes AR mags. Had zero feeding issues with any AR mags. Love it.
I sold my ruger American because of the bolt coming open in the woods with the 2 position safety.
Just purchased mine and it has the dreadful magazine catch unfortunately. The 223 10-round that it comes with is too far up and the bolt catches it.
Will you be making a recoil pad for this?
I never heard what this one is chambered in. anyone catch that?
Between the CVA Cascade and the Ruger Gen 2, what would you recommend?
You got that right? You whine for 30 minutes and then you talk about how great the gun is. and half the time you’re talking about shooting prone. Which I never do and a lot of people may not do. really the only thing I’m really interested in is the trigger and that’s good information to know as far as the other nitpicking stuff was just a waste of time.
Great video, Thanks. On the recoil pad, If you have the means, would you try putting a GAMO Swarm Maxxim recoil pad on a heavy hitting rifle? I know it is from an Air Rifle, but I love that pad. And lastly, is the trigger adjustable?
No zipper. Yay!!!
The only Problem I have with this firearm they do not offer it in enough cals. I was going to order it in 3006 but guess what? For the money I may still pick one up in creed but I already have a AR10 in that Cal.
My gen 1, 308 go wild first time out after sighting in, 7 holes touching at 100 yards.
First hunt dropped a Nilgai in his tracks.
Happy owner here.
LOVE THE ZIPPER EFFECT DEMO!!! I USED LUCUS GUN OIL ON MINE AND IT TOOK MOST OF IT OUT!!!
Nice Tesla! EVs are for the lgbt people.
Any chance you’re gonna do a weatherby 307 range XP review?
this guy makes me laugh… he buys a 500 dollar gun and then thinks is gonna be as good as his 3000 dollar fierce! Dude just stop talking shit and pretending that your not paid by these manufacturers to review their shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are the scope mounts you're using?
Cool video, I am subscribed, I am from Eastern Washington in the desert, where are you as it looks familiar.
Your rankin’ on a “budget gun”, so your NOT getting Tikka, Sako, CZ or a Cooper. The cheek piece? If you’ve ever shot any comp or long-range you wouldn’t complain. This is a “Catch-All”, gun, cheap, well made, lot of gun for $$. When you’ve got an actual Weatherby Mk V, a Cooper, Blazer type guns? Then you can complain when you’ve spent $2k-$5k. Complain all you want then. Try doing something interesting like the 6.5 Grendel, .204 Ruger, etc., the .223 has, if not yet dead but in mortal danger of expiring “dead horse”, been beaten to death. It’s like shooting a .308 Win when every variable from wind, bullet weight, sun, cloudy, rain, dry, moly, non-moly, hot, cold barrel, trimmed & weighed brass & sorted to equal lengths, bedded, non-bedded, so on & so on. We’ve had time to take it ALL IN. In fact if I see many more comparison tests of either .223-5.56mm or .308-7.62×54 (51)mm I think I may just hurl? Please do something different & quit complaining about “non-existent”, issues. It’s what makes you sound like a “Town Troglodyte”, that fancy’s himself a good ole’ fashioned “Country Boy”. Judging by your gun room I’d say you don’t know the 1st thing about life outside of a “city limits”, sign. In the real world or “REAL COUNTRY”, life like I lead you take the pros & cons, keep it to yourself & make the rifle your instrument of death, weather it’s $350 bucks or $1,500, you make it work. You ever make 500yrd shots w/a Ruger Mk II Model 77 chambered in .22 Hornet? Then you can complain. If you have or can then I owe you an apology. Until I see you make magic with a “Triple Deuce”, .30-378 down to a 110 grain .30-06’, I’ll remain critical. Sorry, but seen enough city boys pretending to be “100% Country Boys”.
No offense man but are you born & raised “city boy”? Gripping about recoil of a .223 Rem? Dude, come on? You wanna complain .30-06’, .300 Win Mag or 7mm Mag? Understandable.
@backfire would you select this rifle over the Tikka though?
