  1. The “over-saturation of FIFA tournaments in the USA” is misleading. There is no problem of fans buying tickets at the stadiums for all the events. There is no problem with venue availability, nor infrastructure, nor accessibility for TV and media. The problem is that the sponsors don’t want to spend money in the USA in 2027 after spending a ton of cash for the 2026 WC. Sponsors want to let the market respond to the advertising for a couple of years before dumping more money in that same market. Alternately, that money is wanted in the UEFA realm in 2027 more than the USA. That’s why USSoccer and the FMF repositioned their bid for 2031 — both federations knew they did not have the votes to win the 2027 bid

  2. Marta is the 🐐 for sure! I love the segment on her. Feels like every player that has faced her has a story like that (Alex Scott and Pernille Harder had similar stories in one of their IG lives), it’d be fun to see a collection of stories players have about playing with or against her – maybe an idea for a special segment during the Olympics (if Marta ends up playing).

Plus, everything she’s done off the field as well. And she speaks with such passion.❤ love her. I still have hopes Sam will interview her some day

  3. Planting tulip time is September to November. I find that tulips don’t seem to do well in containers, but it may be because we don’t have sufficient sunlight. Tulips need full sun.

  4. Great episode. There were some incredible games this weekend – the chaos league remains in full swing. RE: Uwcl – I am you on the soft yellow. I think on its own, it could be accepted even if many don't believe it was a foul at all. That said, if a second yellow is going to be given, it has to be a sure yellow, like Lynn said. I don't disagree Barca were the better team in this game. Chelsea didn't put chances away, and Ramírez out was a huge miss for them. I will say, though, that the comment from the coach about managing emotions is quite funny, given Bonmati spent the whole week leading up to the second leg complaining about Chelsea, the official and calling them dirty. Pot meet the kettle, imo. Looking forward to another Sonia Bompastor masterclass finale 😉

  5. As a fan, I paid to see 2 complete teams battle it out. Not 1 team vs a handicapped team. You did a terrible job if all people talk about from the game is the refereeing. I think the chelsea anguish is that cards were not given in the first half at all, then Buchanon was a scapegoat and no yellow issued to barcelona at all. Refereeing aside, I think chelsea lost the moment they lost their last #9 after no fishel or kerr. Beever Jones was too young to throw out there as a hail mary but maybe that would have been what the team needed. Barca and Lyon have a ton of trophies already, it would have been more refreshing to have PSG or chelsea win honestly.

  6. I think Lynn is wrong about the offsides rule. If a defender is over the end line, they are still counted as a defender ahead of attacking player for purpose of determining offsides. If an offensive player is over the endline and does not try to get back on, they cannot be called offsides. But a defender does not get a benefit of not being counted by hopping over the endline.
