  1. As #boomersknowstuff let me assure you that nobody in the 60's or 70's ever called it roosterbrood. Its original traditional name is roosterkoek. Younger generations perhaps didn't read the memo. Another name is mbhaka, which is likely its Xhosa name. It is very traditional especially among the Nama people of the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Roosterbrood is just regular toast, not sure why people get confused. Roosterkoek surey cannot be made in a regular toaster. 😊

Genade dis net oor middernag en my mond water vir n rooterkoek 😢😢

  4. 5:15 Have you see? The dough didn't move a bit in one hour ? DIDN'T RISE ???? THAT BECAUSE OF THE CAKE FLOUR….? AND THE DOUGH HAVE STICK TO HER PAPER OR WATHEVER BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T OIL HER BOWL WITH A LITTLE OIL in the bottom of the bowl, you must put the dough in the bowl with a little oil in it and flip the dough ball the other side so the dough will be oil on top also so that way it won't stick to bowl and to the papers or the clothes …

  5. She is using CAKE FLOUR for making BREAD ? THE DOUGH WILL NOT RISE!!! AND like i said her dough didn't rise ? Because cake flour have very little proteins and gluten , that what make cake and pastries really light!!! For bread you must use all purpus flour or the best is bread flour, because bread flour have high protein and gluten so bread rise higher and have a better elastic dough, bread is better in all points….This lady must know about this….😊

  7. Dankie meisie kind😂😂. I'm a black Xhosa woman. I still enjoy my Mbhako even today. The other day I found myself feeling like Roosterbrood😊. My mom's friend used to use Paraffin stove used to call it Prima and used old an Tin with Holes. 😊😊
