That time when lightning struck a guy in the parking lot and killed him on a tour. John won and gave $30 000 to the man’s kids college fund. The daughter later became a doctor and the family is friends with JD to this day.
I have watched him at every tournament he has played in that I have attended. We were on the turn of a par 5 bootleg and he drove it into the rough right in front of us. There's a guy in the fairway 75 yards back. We're watching that guy. As soon as he hits Daly hits as soon as you heard the other guy hit…..Hilarious.
Two months ago, John Daly played a money game— $500 entry. He won and left with $5,000. He had a glass of whiskey genetically attached to his hand when walking down the fairways.
I commented to my friend. “how sad it is that a former Open champion is now doing a money game at an average country club.”
Apparently, his TOTAL net assets are worth about $2 million. Sad!
He won two major tournaments. You compete against the best golfers in a major tournament. That's nothin' to dismiss so casually. He's a natural talent.
I was watching a segment on this years Masters coverage. It was about one of the top amateur's named Stewart Hagestad. The kid has had several golf coaches/instructors, a physical trainer, a dietary coach and a golf psychologist since he was in his early teens. My thoughts were "This kid is a robot". Now I'm sure it will help him be a great pro, but my god there's more to life than golf. I miss the old school athletes like John Daly and Pitcher David Wells.
I saw John Daly in Paris right after we liberated France from the German Army. He was an American operative and spy and was drinking 15 bottles of Vodka a morning before work.(he hung out with Winston Churchill) He came into the bar I was in and saved two lives with the Heimlich maneuver and assisted in delivering a baby while he was there. He bought everyone there a Scottish castle. True story
Dude had the talent to be the absolute best, but chose to live the american dream, Legend. Can't really be mad at him his demons were probably too heavy for him so he coped to his addictions, i wonder if he had a better upbringing he might have been toe to toe with tiger and his records
DIET COKE……so no sugar…
The Ron White's and John Daly's of the world exist so you can point at someone and say don't be like that fing ahole.
Once I had kids, drinking and doing teenage stuff was gone. Priorities man, priorities. Some people never do get over that.
Lmaoooo John Daly is not a gifted athlete.. He can only play golf buddy.
So now they don't talk to me much.
Let’s not count Moe Norman out. The JD of his time
Daily gotta be doing amphetamines

John Daly without his demons destroys Tiger and probably passes Jack with ease.

John Daly is perfect example of how parents can really screw up their kids.

Interesting guy. (There's no sugar in diet Coke, Joe.)
John daily is the babe Ruth of golf.
If he wanted- John could’ve been the GOAT
Tater‼️‼️‼️‼️
Milk and chocolate milk coats the throat and helps prevent ulcers in the throat from hard liquor drinking.

Talent, body, and habits, like the Babe.
