What will the union do if the government pulls out of the business of retailing fuel tomorrow because they can no longer meet the expenses involved? The TUC members will be jobless across the nation. What I see here is that the union is biting the fingers that feed them. You are asking the government to cut down the prices of fuel and sacrifice the profit for the sake of the workers. Which company is run like that anywhere in the world. If organized labor union do not understand the difference and NGO and for profit business which NNPCL is, then the union needs to educate its members on this. Did the union try to find out the consequences of the action taken by NNPLC when they terminated their exclusive relationship with Dangote? If they did not they are exhibiting ignorance by asking the government to go back to June 2023 petrol price which more than a year ago. It is obvious that when you do not have an exclusive relationship in the distribution business, it means do do not get special price any longer. This will be the only reason NNPCL will pump up their prices. This is common sense and the union leaders should not pretend not to know this.

Noise makers! These Tuc and/Labour Union are the most inconsequential group of people ever existed in Nigeria!

Organisations that claim to be representing the Labour force, but cannot hold this evil government to account; instead they chose to be communication ministers; very unfortunate!

Retrospectively on the time of Oshomole, government of that time was shut down several times , and Labour Union then had their way in most of their demands; that was a strong leadership!

Not all these toothless dogs we have now ! Total rubbish!

Nigeria can not go back to unbridled PMS subsidy ; The TUC understand the Petroleum Industry Bill (signed into law by PMB) which deregulated the industry and necessitated the NNPCL* which is now a full fledged limited liability company with the FG being the largest shareholder that influences the appointment of its GM.

The only thing the TUC can argue is a LIVING wage, diversification of the revenue sources of the sovereign state, and the optimization of the federal, state and LG public service to deliver better service and increase the size of the 'national cake' .

Nigeria FG can also look at the levies and duties related to delivery of PMS at the pump and review the possibility of consolidation and removal of some, I live in a country where over 60% of the price of PMs and Diesel is government tax and levies at near £1.60, and this is a tendency globally.

The problem is not the price of PMS but the capacity to purchase it and earn a decent wage to sustain a respectable life, that's what TUC should tackle

Honestly I salute TUC president because he's not just making noise as others do he presents data, facts and information and also proposing a working alternative. This is a patriotic way to move the country forward not just continue to wail without solution. We can then hold our leaders responsible for failure if they ignore the alternative presented.
