  1. RIP man, my all time favourite athelete…it's unfortunate that you passed away so soon but yet the short run you had was just legendary…it was unheard of that a young marathoner who hasn't had any experience at the track can achieve so much in a Marathon…I remember in the Venice Marathon the commentators mocking Kelvin saying he was too enthusiastic and he would just hit the wall, but you got faster and faster,in the London too the commentators again didn't think highly of you but you proved all of them wrong… it's not a what if… you are the greatest marathoner and for me the greatest athelete who ever lived… you are an inspiration. It's sad we can't see you run anymore

  2. Absolutely heartbreaking. He will be missed. Rest in peace Kelvin Kiptum.. you have changed running as we know it and inspired so many. My deepest condolences go to his family, coaches, and everyone in the running community that he touched <3

  3. He said he'd hold the world record one day, and he said he didn't know if he could improve his world record time, and that while he'd love to win a medal at the Olympics, it was by no means nailed on to happen – all of these things came true, it's almost poetic… A pretty fucking shite poem mind you

  4. 😢 RIP Legend Kelvin Kiptum 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 🇰🇪. We in Kenya are mourning the loss of a great young legend. Our son is no more. We have an older legend and an upcoming now and future legend just passed… the Olympic gold and athletic records hopes dashed and a life so young gone with so mich prospects, for his personal life and in athletics.
The world and the athletics world is at such great loss.
Rip Legend Kelvin Kiptum. Rambirambi kwa familia na wakenya wote. Mungu awape neema na amani katika jina la Yesu.

  5. RIP.
I've worked in Kenya before. Jesus Christ I don't even know how I'm alive. There are no driving regulations as such. Obviously there's speed limits. But you have people over taking around corners. People over taking the over takers. The roads are absolutely atrocious. There are no mot standards. Random speed bumps on the bypass. You don't know if you're on the right side of the road or not. You have oncoming traffic in your lane for no reason. It's anxiety all the time.

  6. An incredibly important person with wonderful resilient 😢 my our lord comfort his family, the Kenyan people, athletics family and the world for the loss of such young brilliant man. His records will remain for long time. 😢

  7. I know we all need time to mourn and process the loss of this great runner, but so far I have only heard ONE news outlet talking about the arrests of 3 of the 4 men who showed up at Kiptum's house days before, looking for him and speaking in ways that intimidated his father…???
