  2. To tell you the truth, I am from South America, almost all countries consume Yuca/Cassava/Manioc here, since it is original from this part of the world, and I never in my life heard of someone dying from poisoning because of Yuca, and it has always been part of our diet.

  3. Cassava was the food of POWs in the Caribbean. The African prisoner taught other POWs how to process it. It was said that just walking through the cassava field could leave blisters on the skin.

  4. They should approach the UN or other NGO's to help fund them through their discovery/experimental phase to build-up production phase. If it's truly as effective in combating malnutrition, it should be a no-brainer for them to invest in. It seems that they have most of the "ground work" already completed so why not seek out investors so that they can scale up production on a large scale? Who knows? Perhaps we're witnessing a solution to world hunger/malnutrition in it's infancy….smart governments who have health issues within their populations should take serious heed of this project. The fact that it's ran by women makes it even better as an investment.

  5. Cassava is a wonderful delicious food crop👍 that is drought-tolerant, thrives in poor soil using less fertilizers. But it needs detoxification processing to remove cyanide compounds before it's safe for human consumption. Every year, many people lacking scientific knowledge die from eating "unprocessed" cassava. Thanks for spreading awareness of detox process safety.

  6. Yuca is not a health food. The Arawaks committed suicide with yuca poisoning. The plant contains cyanide and is toxic to mammals including humans.
