  1. I'm just getting comfortable with cooking with onions simply because I'm a weirdo who absolutely HATES the sight of cooked onions in food. It's just one of those things – I have to pick out every bit of visible onion before I can eat the meal.
The weird thing is I can eat raw onions and like the red ones raw, but the translucent nature of cooked onions creep me out.

My compromise: when I cook and need to fry onions like in jollof, I chop them up so tiny they essentially disintegrate and can not be seen when the dish is done. Otherwise, I just blend them until completely smooth.
    I like shallots as well.

  2. I like both. I agree the red is better but I find that when I Fry the red onions they can SOMETIMES go green looking Which can look awkward. anyway on another note, can I ask what video editing software you use? Thanks

  3. While red onions does have a more pronounced flavor (love using it in my falafel mixture btw), I find it simply too pungent in a lot of other situations, especially when I'm looking for that subtle sweetness that white onion provides.

  4. You must like sweet onions. I miss the spicy onions we used to be able to buy in stores; now everyone wants sweet. I'll be growing my own onions this coming season. One is a white onion called Candy (sweet), and the other is an onion under development to bring back the spiciness that onions used to have. Should be interesting. Great video! Thanks!
