If HTS had any sense they would bargain to get ASSAD and his family sent back in handcuffs to Syria by the Russians to face justice , Assad is of no further use to Russia but he is a bargaining chip that the Syrian people want back to face THEIR justice .

It's remarkable that western commentators including Micheal Clarke continue to define the state of the war in Ukraine in terms of Russian losses, to do so is to deny the lessons of history USSR suffered 28 million casualties in ww2 they expect them they plan for them, and they absorb them those are the result of the tactics of a dictatorial state. The very sad fact is without serious intervention from the west Ukraine has lost and the world will be by far a less safe place to be.
