  1. "Culturally safe"? What the heck does that even mean? Maybe if we stopped filling their heads with the idea that some invisible force that can't ever be identified is holding them back at each and every single thing they do, and is doing everything it can to ruin their lives, they'd be less likely to feel depressed. When you blame every failure and every bad interaction they have in life on a single thing they have no power over, of course they're going to feel helpless.
