I see Glory and then I'm reminded of when the Massachusetts volunteer regiment memorial statue was vandalized during a BLM riot. How did they not know what they were vandalizing?
Bravery in the face of fire is something to behold.
Bravery in the face of going BACK into the fire, knowing full what to expect, is on a whole other level.
RIP Andre Braugher 🙏
What's he going to do on the front lines with a shot up chest?
True Marine.😊
"Well, Thomas, at some point you'll be back in Boston. I promise that I won't send you there unless you are in a coffin." That's more along the lines of a true man's answer. lol
God, what a great human interest story this movie was
he survive the war and become giey police chief
Captain Holt is dedicated as an Army man and a Fine and Gentleman ofiicer Protecting the Tuskeegee Airmen.
I really liked this movie
This shows how friendship, Brotherhood, and good relationships gets you from your men, you treat them like friends and brothers they will never stop fighting until their job is done. God damn this is why i love shaw he was a good man and leader.
Brooklyn 99 looks different
Andre braugher was a Chicago legend RIP
“How do, Colonel?”
Perfect for the character and the moment.
"You were shot. You have to go back". Tell that to Col Chamberlain.
RIP, Andre Braugher.
Thomas had something to prove. By standing and fighting with the 54th. Under his good friend command.
True gentleman, fighters til the end
I think Andre did a great job with this role…he doesn’t get enough acclaim because he over shadowed by Denzel and Morgan’s roles…but his character arch going from the life of a freeman who lived as comfortable as a black man who was free could live at that time..to hardened solider and killer was pretty convincing…this scene was great because it was when he really grew up and accepted the harshness of the real world
More of these men are the ones who should have statues
To add a further layer to his reasoning, Thomas knew that if sent back to Boston, he'd feel a survivors guilt.
The fact that while he is safe at home, his brothers in arms are going through hell, miles away without him knowing if theyre still alive, would haunt him until the end of his days.
So, he wanted to stay. Even if taken off the front lines, he'd at least know who made it back and who didn’t at every roll call.
Isn't odd that alot of big actors have gotten their break in war movies?
One of the greatest movies of all time. Denzel, Washington’s first Oscar.
Rest in Peace
Andre Braugher 🙏🏽♥️
Truth be told this wasn't an act of bravery or duty to his country – Thomas just would have done anything to not go back to Boston, even taking a bullet
A truly brilliant scene in a movie plum full of em.
He came in to that unit a man, but here he became a soldier. In the last act, he became a legend with his entire group.
I bet if you kill 2 people driving recklessly in Boston, you won't just get away with a small fine the way Mathew Broderick did when he killed 2 people while driving reckless.
True greatness on celluloid. Rip andre brauer
Great story and great movie
Was this the theater club battalion?
But seriously you're going back
The greatest movie ever made about black history. Beautiful movie
"You won't go back." That is an order
The brotherhood found on the battlefield is unlike any other in existence.
One of my favorite movies in my life I know this immediately and the music
Justice is karma and best served cold!
And he never went back.
