Preserving Sierra Leone's historical houses


Sierra Leone’s timber style houses built after the slave trade have deteriorated and are being replaced by modern buildings.
One organisation in the capital wants to save them as a means of celebrating West African history and architecture.

  1. A great selling point to promote tourism in Sierra Leone. The country's position in the emancipation of freed slaves is unique and the board houses are all part of that story. I only hope the present government would work swiftly to preserve them as time is running out
