Power utility Eskom is urging all prepaid electricity customers to recode their meters by no later than the 24th November. This has been mandated by the Standard Transfer Specification Association. The utility says after 24 November, meters will no longer be able to accept electricity tokens unless they are updated to Key Revision Number 2….

Eskom must first clean his or her house I've been applying for a meterbox because my one became blank until now its a fourth year now I've got references and i also went to their offices at Belleville now how must i recode without a meter box they must go back and check the people's complaints and also their technician's if you 0:04 0:04 ask them they told you they are not here for you 😮 now i depend on the neighbors for power
HOW DO I KNOW IT IS UPDATED?
Because we bought electricity so many times that we don’t know if we already got those 20 digits or not. So how do I know I already updated my box by mistake ???

If ive to be given these tokens again, ill be happy to get them together with procedure as to how to load them to avoid mistakes. Eskom should reset its system so it can generate recoding tokens again if we have to buy electricity. Because i heard no eskom personel or constructor will visit homes, we'll get sms with recoding token. Why can eskom generate these token for those dont have electricity. I was given a reference number and told the matter i reported will be attended in 48 hours but that did not happen.

Hi I did received those tokens, token 1 and token 2 that came with free token and token I purchased, but I punched them in and they were not accepted. What is it I must do. Cos I even bought additional 5, but those extra ones don't have extra tokens, just purchased tokens still cannot load them. I bought all these through bank App. What is it I must do…..

But what if you don't get numbers we buy electric and our Meters don't get electric

May we get free electricity pre paid meters for the first time . I would like the split meter box for 2 homes on 1 property
Why is there no notification placards or programmes outside or inside rent offices across all district municipalities to show customers on how to recode upgrade their meters. Why hide or shy away from ratepayers as this is govermental or gazetted by goverment. All rent offices should have clear notifications for all customers (ratepayers) to be aware.

I've been waiting for those extra 20-digit numbers for months. There's always only one 20 digit-number, the credit token. Eskom has no customer service, so there's no way to find out what's going on (they make me wait on the phone for 50 minutes and simply disconnect the call when it's eventually my turn, never respond to emails, and that Alfred app is clueless).
What must I do and where can I go to do this please. Can you help me with this and what and where to do and go please.

How do you update the meters
THEY SAY MUST RECODE BUT THEY REFUSE TO TELL US HOW THESE PEOPLE ARE USLESS MAN PUT A DISCRIPTION ON HOW TO DO THIS, THE ONLY THING THEY WILL SAY IS WE NEED TO RECODE OR WE WONT HAVE ELECTRICTY AFTER NOVEMBER THEY SO DUMB
Eskom has already stopped prepaid meters on 20 October 2024. Many of us cannot upgrade nor buy or load electricity. Alfred communication, phone calls, emails with no result for days. ESkom has faulty meters now and have to replace. FACEBOOK has many entries with complaint. I have reported to the local newspaper on the Westcoast. Don't think it will help. NO ELECTRICITY. I hare the word "escalted being used by Eskom. Hope SABC will up.
Eskom should not feel proud – they are grossly overpaid to do one thing – to keep the lights on. They are not being paid to run up hundreds of billions in debt! When Eskom is no longer bankrupt and makes a profit – and has kept the lights on for 5 years – then we'll applaud them – not before.
SABC teach your presenters and interviewers basic skills! What information does the viewer need?!
