  1. Iam a South African, i was in Zimbabwe victoria falls town this weekend.Things are expensive there there.I asked to see the zic @ a pick n pay n they only had Rands n USD.The zic currency is currently 1 usd 30.20 zic.Taxis start @ 5 usd in the town but uf u use the taxi with other ppl us 1Dollar .I didn't see anyone with a full trolley there n i asked the ppl who worked there they said pick n pay in the cheap option compared to OK n other supermarkets but ppl can't afford.Eg 200g clover cheese is 198 zic 6.5USD about R132(If u buy with rands R100 is 5USD or R20 to 1 dollar exchange rate in Zim).Victoria falls was a wonderful place to see though. I Don't know if is different in other provinces. i also noticed that i didn't meet any South Africans working in the shops, driving taxis or working as tour guides or selling in the markets , Streets or cleaning at shops etc like wat i see here in SA n when we want the same to happen in SA we are labeled Xenophobic.

  2. Pick n Pay is closing most of its shops even in SA. It's not about zig bt since the owners death Pick n Pay never been the same. And for your own info currency don't control the economy it's investment and trade.

  3. Nothing lasts forever, I just wish there was something we could do as SA to help change the situation in Zim.
We are one people, we should be helping each other, I pray that the almighty give Zim people the courage and strength to fight the Zim government out of power!

Zimbabweans you truly don't deserve to be treated this way by your government, I wish you the best, SA love Zim people, don't mind those who don't, stay strong!

  4. Good enough reason for Zimbabweans to go back home and fix their own mess.
Don't ask us "what is going to happen to Zimbabweans when other companies also leave Zimbabwe" and start showing that you are hard workers you claim to be in South Africa.
You should blame yourself and stop playing a Victim Card on us.

  5. If you lose both Pick n Pay and Choppies, does TM gets to go at it solo? Who becomes the cheaper grocer for the people?

I wish Zimbabwe would stop introducing new currencies, stop using the US dollar, and adopt the Rand or peg the Zim dollar to it for the time being until it stabilises. I am not sure how solid the monetary policy of Zim is. I personally think the last Finance Minister that Zim had was Tendai Biti, everyone after that has been worse. Mthuli Ncube has been a disaster.

  6. Good start, talk about your country’s problems and rally up the people to go fix Zimbabwe. Take a look how we fixing our country’s problems. We don’t run and fight to the end. Just watch how illegal foreigners are going to be dealt with and not by the stupid government but by those who are affected by these illegal influx of migrants from everywhere. When the government fails us, we become the government and lead.

  7. Tariro you are the only one telling the truth sisi. Some of your fellow Zimbabweans are all over social media saying Zimbabwe Zimbabwe is now better than South Africa, lol 😂😂😂

  8. This is quite sad news. As South Africans we really want to see other African countries do well. Hopefully the economy of Zimbabwe will improve soon. May God help you guys to rebuild the glory of Zimbabwe like it was many years ago.

  9. Pick n Pay in general has financial problems even here in South Africa most of them are closed, around Kempton Park 6 of them closed down and they replaced it with checkers, in the villages they replaced with Boxers stores.

  10. The most unfortunate thing Tariro is that majority of Zimbabweans are not doing anything about this situation. They would rather fight government of South Africa. And you are right to ask yourself that question, what if more investors leave? What will happen to the future of children and grandchildren???
