It takes around a year to organise a garden party.
It's almost 9 months from the request and invitation, acceptance and your security checks. If you pass all of those, you are officially invited, this is around 4 months prior to the event.
So Charles can't just cancel his garden party and run to his petulant son.
I do not think that he really believed that Prince William’s meeting would be leaked. She scuppered that because it may have got in the way of her master plan which was to leave and get back to LA.
They are liars, grifters, and have been caught on many occasions manufactering false gossip. They do not possess an ounce of sincerity or genuine concern between the both of them. It was all a lie. Harry NEVER made the request. He made a statement purely to create the impression that he was a victim. And Meghan was in England at the Windsor suite. So they didn’t just mess with the narrative. He actually lied. And the palace made a statement and included recollections may vary. So it was doubly lucky that King Charles did not meet with him.
