We should apply our reasons properly to enable us mirror our economic industry critically, as well to ascertain the pros and cons of these profound concepts: "incentive" & "palliative"…
We should first and foremost ask ourselves: what is the meaning, value, purpose and objective of the concepts and its practicality…
According to the Oxford Dictionary, an incentive is a thing that motivates or encourages someone to do something. eg. when you give farmers an incentive to improve their land or the teachers to increase their teaching volumes. It also serves as a payment or concession to stimulate greater output or investment. Eg. Tax incentives for investing in depressed areas or even gospel preachers to minister without being mindful of persecution s..
While the word palliative in this context is a kind of making a problem seem less serious but not solving the problem (cause) or making it disappear…
Whereas on the medical domain palliative serves a drug or medical treatment that reduces pain without curing the cause of the pain….
When we understudy the value, the purpose and the objective of these incentives and palliatives, being rendered to the less privileged ones in our society, via the government institutions, ecclesiastical bodies, and other social charity organizations, including Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOS')…

In the 80's, we have pipe-borne water all around our street in Mushin, lagos. In Ogun state, there are still pipe born water in Abeokuta till today.

Government should provide drinkable water supply for the citizens . There will be a time people will be drinking soak away water if care is not taken. So sad. 😢
