Oprah BLAMES Taraji P Henson For Color Purple Flopping? $100 Million Loss

Just when we thought that the drama between Taraji and Oprah was wrapping up, new reports are coming out that say Oprah made things 10x messier after she went off on Taraji and blaming her for causing the Colour purple to flop miserably at the box office. The film has…

  1. Shame on Oprah. It was good watching her come up & make a name for herself but Money changed her. Oprah was the producer. Taraji told the truth & Folks dont like being fronted out, so they use their power & influence to get even behind the scenes. Wake up people. It was a flop because NO ONE wanted to see a remake. Thats NOT because Taraji spoke up about Hollywoods pay descrepancies
Notice that alot of actors/actresses are supporting Taraji
Careful Oprah people arent dumb or blind

  2. I'm saying something everybody is afraid to say because I'm not in Taraji shoes and I don't give an F. This was a musical movie, and Ninja ain't into this Shi$. Now, the original movie is a classic, and Oprah made it into a Broadway Play. At the end of the day, Oprah done Color The Purple out, even spelling her last name backwards to Harpo. Taraji ain't had $&@$ to do with this movie flopping. Oprah is a rich bitch and she got money coming out her azz . She could have paid these woman for their worth, but wanted to be a cheap azz ninja and get over like they should be thankful for this overrated of a movie. The women did a wonderful job in doing their part, even the men's. She needed to pay them, period. Oprah is an undercover sneaky dam bully, and she is dirty. If Taraji is blackball at anything, Oprah had a hand in it. 2024 Celebrities are being exposed, and Oprah should be the first woman to be exposed, you can't support the me too movement and bullying and treating woman like @&÷&,, that's now how it work. O and another thing, Fantasia Barrino did her thang. All I'm saying is Oprah needs to not mess with Fantasia, we got her back…😂

  3. Also, don't forget the good Oprah has done: essentially financed Obama's campaign and helped his election; built a school for girls in South Africa; funds a Toni Morrison program at George Mason; helped support and fund Stephanie Abrams campaign. I am not an Oprah groupie, but we can not act like she has never done anything good.

  4. I did not go see the movie because I think we are beyond the place where The Color Purple takes us to. I am tired of movies about abused slaves, abused women, black men hating black women, black women hating black men, black men as gangsters and thugs, black women as oversexed and crazy in bad wigs, fake eyelashes, long hideous nails, and dressed in tight, almost prostitute clothes. We are so much more than that. How about movies about our contemporary lives, about leaders and heroes who changed the world, or just good dramas based on the millions of plays by black men and women that never get produced? The film was rehash that was not needed (agree with others).

Now to Taraji—good cause, expressed in the wrong venue. Walking around yelling about bad management that let you sign a contract that does not work for you is not the way to solve the problem, though I appreciate your hurt and passion. Be more selective in your roles, manage your money better, and produce or work with women and men who produce positive films. Let the work lead to the money. This worked for Denzel, Cicely Tyson, and so many others. I feel and respect your pain, but not your methods.

  8. I've lost a lot of respect for Oprah. She knows what it's like to be black, specifically a black woman in the industry. The fact that any of this even happened reflects so poorly on her. She shouldn't have needed to be called to fix anything. The trailers should have been immaculate, drivers should have been immaculate, and the pay should have been stellar. CP flopped because that's a book and has been several movies. Anyone who wanted the stories has had an infinite amount of times to consume it. Most people who cared went opening weekend, that's why the box office dropped. Make new and uplifting stories. Don't do the millioneth reboot of a movie based on a book and be surprised it flopped.

  9. They filmed this in my town right next door to our property so I watched a good portion. The kraft tent was huge & the encampment was behind our home. The singing & dancing didn't end until the middle of the night. I know they worked so hard too, we sat out on our back porch & listened to all of the singing during the huge dance scene in town. I LOVED the musical. They deserved so much more than they received.

During filming they made an absolute mess during & after they left fom all the dirt they used to coat the city streets & sidewalks. We had dirt for months coating our homes & cars. After what, 2 yrs later, we're still dealing with issues in the sewers bc of all the dirt. They made a massive mess, but I still loved having them all here. Everyone was super nice.

They're always filming here as our town is historic. Our home is circa 1900. They filmed Till, The Underground Railroad (most recent one,) the last Marvel movie, Dumb & Dumber (I think it was part 2) & too many more to name. I think it was the set of Till they paid us for allowing them to use our property to store some of their equipment. They're currently filming The Bondsman with Kevin Bacon right now. His wife Kera Sedgwick was with him when they were filming here a few wks ago. Very nice people. It's a horror series for Amazon Prime that will be released in the near future.

  10. A black producer shafting black actors is particularly shameful. Oprah's turn in the spotlight is coming. She can haul up and wait behind P. Diddy. I have the feeling a lot of black entertainers are going down this year. Many justifiably so. Wut up, Jay Z?

  11. Here's what i will never forgive, obese people that opt for usung medication for diabetics to lose weight. People are dying and going into diabetic comas because they can't get their medications. But God forbid that the rich don't get what they want, no matter who gets hurt in the process!

  12. The movie flopped because it was a musical. And I didn’t go see it because I would have been upset because it was. All the ladies in the movie I love and would have paid just to support them.

  13. I drove Taraji once in NYC and her bodyguard David C. Awesome lady. Amazing energy. I drove Laila Ali too. She was also super charismatic. Lovely ladies.

  14. It's unfortunate that Taraji decided it was toooo much when dealing with Oprah, but sucked it in for many, many years when working for "white" Hollywood executives. She states her salary has been low compared to her white counterparts; the low salary trend did not just happen in this instance. The real power in Hollywood is held by white people, and I am sad to see that Taraji gave them a "pass" while dragging a fellow black woman through the mud. Taraji, I am sad about this situation because once again blacks are pitted against each other instead of addressing the real problem in America that targets all people of color, not acknowledging our full worth. "White" Hollywood is laughing all the way to the bank, once again.

  15. They're trying to blame Taraji, like they blamed Monique… I'm sooo disgusted at Oprah because I didn't know that she hated her people as much as the others… To keep assisting in the black balling of people of color is shameful!!!!!😡🤬😡🤬
    #ReapingAndSowing season… Hope they're ready when it's their turn.
I HAD ABSOLUTELY NOOO INTENTION ON GOING TO SEE IT!!!!! The movie was a classic original and COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED!!!! It was doing to FLOP anyway!!!!🤔🤔🤔

  16. Why is it Oprah Winfrey fault? There are 18 producers involved with this movie. Stephen Spielberg, Quincy Jones, Oprah Winfrey, and 15 others. Why is everyone beating up on Oprah?

Oprah Winfrey does not negotiate salaries. All these salaries and benefits things are negotiated before accepting the job! These things are decided upon before accepting the job… not after the movie is completed! My people… They will mess up a wet dream.
