Cameroon army

One soldier has been killed and another wounded after the Boko Haram group attacked an army base in Cameroon’s Far North region, according to local and security sources.

The attack took place by 1 a.m. Thursday at Cameroon’s Bavangola military base in the region.

Two corpses of the militants were found after the attack and reinforcements were sent to secure the area, an army official who opted for anonymity told Xinhua without providing further details.

The militants also raided Kolofata locality in the same region Thursday, stealing clothes and goats, but the military repulsed and recuperated the animals, the official said.

The Central African nation has been battling Boko Haram since 2014. Enditem
