  1. Thank you brother for your explanation on OLODUMARE and the difference from the Orisha.
    Is OLODUMARE the official name of the Supreme Being and not a description of the Divine CREATOR?
    Thank you again for the video information on this!

  2. This channel has done a good job in making the name of OLODUMARE more clear. I commend this effort. Perhaps an expansion of that description can be presented.
    To start with, no one who does not understand Yoruba can fully grasp the gravity of the name. Any explanation outside of the language is, at best – an approximation.

    Having said that, here is a fuller description:

    Olodu = Oní odù — Owner of (can also be "Author of")
    M' = Mọ (tí ó mọ) — to mold
    Are = Adé arè — Arè crown
    The full sentence is : Olódù to mọ adé arè
    Thus the name OLODUMARE means "The Author of (One who own) Odù, who crafted(molded) the Arè crown".

    Odù = a segment of the Ifa corpus
    Adé arè = Arè crown

    **To grasp the gravity of the name, one would have to understand what "Odù" is. This insight would have to be combined with the comprehension of the significance of the "Adé Arè".

    For non-Yoruba speaking people, let it suffice to mention that OLÓDÙMARÈ is the highest name (honor) of/to God by the Yorùbá people.
