Honda has today unveiled the 2020 Africa Twin and the larger Africa Twin Adventure Sports. Apart from the larger 1100 engine, tubeless tires, cruise control, Apple Carplay and a whole bunch of other electronic goodies, the changes Honda has made to the Africa Twin are quite…

  1. mmm ok, I am buying 2020 Goldwing for my future lady (still to be found) and I for the comphy touring and fun side Coastal and mountain Rds around Philippines are the best!) but I also want to get out into mother natures sexy arms for a thrill ride so this will fit that perfectly i believe. ONly thing is, can i put 2 0r 4 of these on a trailer so the friends can also join us from the kick off points up in the mountains. How good would this be on STEEP hil climbs on foot paths as a LOT of the trails around Philippines is just foot paths up and along the ridges of some rather spectacular mountains and hills.

  2. Nice one Honda.

BMW, where are the cornering lights and heated seats for the GS and GSA? And while you're at it, where are the TFT screens for the K 1600s and the R 1250 RTs?

  3. Love these changes. I was ready to purchase my KTM 1290 SAR, but not that crazy about the 2020 changes at KTM: however, Honda nailed it with these changes. I've got a lot to consider.

  4. Hopefully chunkier pegs. I like the sound of all the upgrades, nice to see Honda listening to the customer base. Just wonder if all of the electronics would actually survive a cross continental style trip? If they (the electronics) go I’m guessing your adventure is over. Or is there some kinda manual default / backup that means you can keep riding the thing without the computers ‘ass i stance’ ? Appreciate that vast majority of the units sold will never endure that sort of trip, so it’s not going to be a major selling point.

  5. Man, I love my ATAS right now… but, that new one has it all straight out of the box! Ah well, gotta put some more miles on mine so this new one doesn't look as appealing (Mine is still too new). Thanks for the update.

  6. I saw folks jumping into New super tenere and new africa twin only to realize they are not suitable for daily driving. Too tall to heavy to big wheels. And they sold the bikes. Hardly an everyday commuter. Make them a smaller version with less of that high tech crap that cannot be fixed in the mountains or in the empty steppes of Russia and Argentina.
    Too complex.

  7. Yes impressed. But also they should have a budget version. With a 650 cc. No bells and electronics. But capable of upgrading to those high end features. And also for shorter people. Kind of like Africa twin and transalp used to be.
