  1. We should not forget that Nigeria's silver medal in 4X400m relay men at Sydney Olympics was later upgraded to gold when the US team was disqualified after one of the Harrison brothers was belatedly found to have cheated and failed an anti-doping test for a banned substance. I agree that it is a collective gold medal being from a relay race that featured Sunday Bada, Clement Chukwu, Eniofok Udobong and one other guy. We need more individual gold medalists to add to Chioma Ajunwa's feat in the Long Jump at Atlanta Olympics. She remains our shining beacon and the only individual Olympics gold medalist since 1996 (28 years now).

  2. You are right: the ladies are our best medal hopes. In addition to Tobi Amusan, Joy Eze can win a medal in the women's 71kg weightlifting, Ese Brume can win a medal in the women's long jump, Elizabeth Anyanacho can win a medal in the women's Taekwondo, Our female wrestlers can win more than one medal, and our mixed 4x400m relay team can win a medal.
