Social media such as IG.
Do not underestimate money rituals read the book church mafia .they sometimes work unfortunately.
I couldn't agree more.
Especially the southern Nigerian.
The North isn't that ambitious & greedy. They're contented with the little they have.
It's freaking scary 😨
I am beginning to realize that the Nigerian leaders whom we often complain about are actually the reflection of us – the society.
I'd say this is a global state of mind. I mean, look at those gangstas that display the wealth accumulated from ill-gotten methods. They are glorified in rap videos, they get the best looking females. Their families do not question and they pride themselves in expensive designer garments. I mean you see this played out in popular culture. The younger generation back home are now exposed to this global lifestyle through SM. They see how their counterparts live across the pond. And then for them to see Wizkid, Davido, Burnaboy,Obi Cubana flaunts their immense wealth in public display. Ofcos, these youths want to the same lifestyle for themselves and immediate family.
You actually look like Noble Igwe…..
Thanks so much bro for speaking up my mind!!!
People all over the world do things to get money, it's just that the Nigerian own is what we get to know and see because we are in the same society.
Almost every one has lost integrity, even in the church. The Pastor's have lost all integrity by lying.
It's hard to trust your own Nigerian people! You have to think 5 times to even hold a conversation with them. SMH!
you have good content but make your videos shorter.
I love this spotlight videos – it's succinct;
I find ur contents informative and on point, but am usually discouraged from watching bcos most of them are long videos.
Needless to say i share ur views on this one; keep up the good work brother 👏👏👏
As a Yoruba, yes – our culture is fundamentally corrupt. Too much emphasis on attaining material wealth for decadence and self aggrandisement
To really see how we have evolved over the years watch old Nollywood movies 25 – 20 yrs back.
These movies had interesting stories to tell about culture and faith.
Today we are bombarded with repeated scripts showcasing money, cars, houses and fake looking people.
Well said, a country that is deeply rooted in religion. It is disappointing to mention that most of these so called men of God hv used human beings as rituals to get crowds in their churches and some Muslims are also deeply rooted in it. Those who are not in rituals are into kidnapping, all because they want to flaunt Ill.gotten wealth. The unfurtunate thing is that it is beyond the government now, even those in power got there through this same ritual ot a thing. It is now more deadly than covid. God help us.
The future will be bright. And unexpected different. Change is already here. We just dont see it.🎆🌟
Well said. There's no more I could had to that bro
This is why many nations don't want us to come and corrupt the minds of their citizens. We don't praise honest hard work anymore. Just wealth, no matter the source. It's a shame. We as a people need to start reporting evil to the authorities and be unified at it. Teach the younger ones that ritual killing is just a waste of human life, only honest hard work is effective.
I like your beards phrankleen
This is where Almighty Jah comes in…not religion.
Spiritually dying in the garden of eden left the mind and body which are easily manipulated by evil spirits. In Jesus is the spiritual life that was lost in the garden and accepting Jesus makes one complete again; mind, body and spirit. G-d is a Spirit and to have a relationship with Him, one must be spiritually alive. (It's a copy but to have relationship with evil spirits one must allow evil spirits inside them). Via the relationship, G-d transforms a person's heart and reveals, teaches, counsels, etc. about life, spiritual matters and so much more. (The same process happens with those who accept evil spirits). Though, we are to renew our minds by reading the living words in the Bible because it will help eject and replace wrong thoughts/thinking. In this new life, one learns to live in content; I do not mean content to be in poverty or lack, no; but to make the best of what you do have, so the state is temporary. This helps to stop feeding envy, jealousy, greed, etc. and not want what is someone else's. The spirit of mammon is in many souls but it can be cast out in Jesus name.
Even in South Africa our parents push us to give out money to people nit because they kind but to show off
I totally agree with your summation in this piece….our society is suffering from the total dearth of good moral values! People no longer question where wealth is obtained from as far as they are able to share from it in whatever capability. In fact, they are ready to crucify anyone who so much as dares to ask where the wealth is gotten from!! I fear for the future of our Nation!!!
Many reasons why I can't doubt Jesus thought and action the more I am growing up the more it becoming a reality, please Mr. Phrankleen I didn't mean precisely religion.
Is a very good question. What about the future.
Bravo Phrankleen, talk about it.
It is sad that this happens in all of West Africa. I just came back from vacation and as I was admiring all the beautiful 3 storey mansions that was being built the other part of me was saying oh God I pray this is genuine money, People do not like truth they will say you are jealous. I was asking people who built those houses and what they do for living where they come from not asking out of envy, I loved the beauty it was giving to the country but at the same time the country is poor people barely managing to survive that became a concern to me. We carry this mentality to diaspora and it is so sad
A society where people like Hushpupii is a role model to some youth. No more integrity people just want to get rich by any means, they don't care about the consequences.
Not questioning source of income has landed Africans in so many problems. Africans from my observation find it hard to question anything, that explains why some people go so wild in doing evil. Those who even questioned these people are regarded strang.
Money doesn't equal success.
Nigeria is a loose society where anything evil is possible.
If you came to my shop to shop, it's not my business to inquire about the sources of your wealth. The government has the responsibility to track people and their sources of opulence.
What we need to do is to stop worshipping these crook who are getting rich without traceable income to back it up.
How many of the politician made their money ethically?
People want what they don't have. Most of us don't need anywhere near the amount of money we think we need. Good friends and a positive, respectful disposition will get you much farther. Great discussion topic my dear brother
This is a massive problem not just in Nigeria, a lot of our youths in Uk are doing the same thing from as young as 15, they are already heavily involved in fraud and buying high end luxury items. I don’t understand how parents are not questioning their kids when they come home with a £900 jacket
So true, our parents also cause a lot of problems too. Our parents are encouraging their children to risk their lives travelling through Libya where 70% of those travelling through Libya die. The 30% who do make it into Europe are often jailed, or selling drugs or prostitution etc, We blacks no matter where we are on the planet, our lives are so lacking in spirituality and integrity.
It's definitely not the youths fault…
Check out the preaching about prosperity
Check out the Chiefs giving Titles to youths upon donations to elders in councils.
Check out Governments arms ..amassing public treasury..
Simply Nigeria problem is No Consequence for BAD behaviour…
No systems to hold people accountable for their own actions…
Bad is bad but Government must do the needful and put up measures to fix the mess they created…
I have leave in UAE, Qatar, Malaysia and USA…they have their problems but not corruption like Nigeria politicians
Hellow Phrankleen this is not only a Nigerian thing but African problem at large and parents have been immensely pressuring their children to excel .No matter what they want to leave their dreams through their children if they have a daughter she will be subjected to toxic relationship/marriage just because the partner is wealthy
Phrankleen- you opening a can of worms. The Nigerian society is definitely feeding the belly of the Beast. Ethics and Morals are not in the Nigerian dictionary both in diaspora and at home. Pride and arrogance are cherished in the culture. That breaks myheart and Im scared thats the new normal. like the saying Goes- Poverty is Bastard .
Hi Franklin, you are very wise and I commend how much effort you are putting in to enlighten us home and abroad. To be honest with you, we saw this coming a long time ago. It didn't start today. This is just a manifestation of hypocrisy, "mind my business" mentality and corruption. We have no structure, no laws to protect our young minds, Nollywood stories of rituals and flashy life style, culture of celebrating wealth, over protective parenting, over population thanks to people who give birth to more than they can afford to bring up, unemployment, and mostly celebration of immorality more than achievement and creativity. We got ourselves to this point and it is upto everyone of us in the society to stand up and fix this before it becomes too late.
It’ started way back right from our forefathers still went extra mile to keep their wealth, the church separate the poor from the rich not minding the source of there wealth, what do you expect from us the youth. It’s too late period::: our educational system is a mess our economy messed up. To say-but a few we are just stuck here how we got here is still a misery. Seeing a 17 years old boys with a human head I sober for this generation.
Yoruba says "It is the child that brings back money to the house, would be recognized."
This is bad and it is never the best way to have success in life. Go back to what the good YORUBA says, "Know the house that you are coming out from". Loyalty, integrity, love, and respect, count more than MONEY. Contentment is the best in life…
I think they were already elements of materialism in our cultures, particularly the southern ethnicities.
However, the lack of good leadership over the years has exacerbated the very worse of our cultures.
I just finished reading "No longer at ease", a book written by Chinua Achebe and published in 1960.
It made me realize corruption was alive and well even before independence.
Church in Nigeria is divided rich people are allowed to sit in front sit why poor in the back I once . and nollywood worsen the time always about money this has make money people so desperate
😂😂😂 but for the money ritual to me that is a myths , but Nigeria celebrate money so much even pastor abandoned preaching of salvation all they preach about is prosperity …. Nigeria just so celebrate money even the boys and girls don't even have any regards for people who don't have money
You said it all…….it's even affecting our romantic relationships…if you are not a so called Yahoo boy now….trust me…you will not appeal to the ladies. ……..hard working guys are despised because they don't throw money like that around. ………it's a bad situation…..really pathetic
Firstly – I am not Nigerian , I am African American, and an elder. Worshiping money ,ignoring the soarch of money have been prevalent in All societies – ie Mafia, drug cartels. People have been turning a blind eye from time and memorial . It’s simply “jubilee, jumbuli, jubilo” (jealousy, envy and greed). Excuse the spelling. The dynasty families origins are all founded on ill gotten gains. Thru blood sweat an tears of slaves. I don’t think it can be combatted – unless we became principled and disciplined – towards the good of all mankind. That statement is idealistic . The survival of the fittest, “by any means necessary “ is todays anthem. It’s so bad people allow themselves to be raped, defecated upon, etc – in the middle east – return home build houses , buy cars, -everyone turning a blind eye . I commend you Phrankleen – you are discussing issues and bringing these topics to the forefront .Be safe.
Facts! In some cases the girl/guy that is trying to "fleece" you for money is being encouraged by their mother and father. Yet, they will tell you that they work hard. Very sad state of affairs in Nigeria.
Amazing wisdom about what is really important in life. And don't get me started about how my belly was revolting seeing teenagers in diapers in broad daylight at Zenith Bank Epe with sissy handbags lining up to get money from the bank. They are into money ritual. In a sane society, they will be arrested or put in straitjackets for psychiatric(like Aro or Jaja Clinic UI lol) evaluation. I was speechless seeing that online. Thanks, Phrankleen for your insight.
