My question is, why do we have NNPC? That organization is corrupt and inefficient. Does this kind of thing happen in other countries?
Why can't Nigerian government stay away from interfering and dabbling into private businesses but focus on making laws that encourage businesses and private investments to thrive. Someone is trying to sabotage Nigerian economy. What is the Senate doing? Why are we so corrupt? How do these people sleep at night?

Appoint this young man the managing director of NNPC. That’s what sane countries do. But Nigeria will rather choose nepotistic appointments over the knowledge based alternative. Let the country’s leaders keep fleecing the country at the expense of the wellbeing of its people.

Why is shielding the NNPC or is the petroleum minister involed ? There is need for proper reporting. How many liters of these product is been consumed by govt and its establishments. Also Considering the fact that there's a provision for the product consumption in their separate budgets.
Nigeria cannot be broke even if it spend more than 3tr on importation. in actual sense, the said amount is suppose to be within the confab of the NNPC, is either they sell to the govt or the Marketers. The hidden fact is that payments are made for these product at every point of purchase either by the whole seller, retailer or consumer. Why is the govt making it look like a fresh capital is being injected into importing this product always?
What is happening to the investment and amount realized from sales by the Sole importer(NNPC)?…

Nigeria spent 3Tr on petrol importation. There is a poor representation in reporting this info to the public. The most important aspect is kept away. "Thinking" the product being consumed by Nigerians is in exchanged for payment, from the Importer, Marketers, retailer or consumer. Which implies that money is being recycled back to the sole Importer (NNPC). Why are we not asking the necessary question.

Is there hope for Nigeria? I don’t think so because want we feed every day is lies, lies and lies to the demise of the nation. Nothing makes sense in Nigeria. All laws, institutions and corporations are all phantom. It baggers belief how Nigeria has not ceased to exist with this obscene rampart corruption that sinks to the highest heaven.

Africa was not supposed to industrialize, become sovereign in Energy, food and manufacturing. That is why Dangote has been facing so much hurdles and push back. This is the beginning, hopefully we can have the same investment in electricity, a dam in Congo will help with electricity to many African countries. But DRC need to divorce France which is still controlling the country.

What is happening in Nigeria presently is the highest level of madness and Nigerians must rise up against this madness. How can a government be sabotaging the economy it is supposed to be promoting. If we really understand the impact of energy on every other sector, we will not let these mad people go scort free

    Just a guess. Maybe
NNPC and “oil mafia “ were taken by surprise on the the dedication of DanGote towards the completion of the refinery project and the considerable relative short time it took to complete such a major operation.
Meanwhile NNPC and some cartel had previously signed several agreements under the table based upon their wrong assumptions.
No wonder how NNPC seems unable to clearly explain the whole debacle .

Good discussion, but comparing Ghana's petrol cinsumption with thst of Nigeria WILL NOT give a true value. Why? You might ask.

We forget that Nigeria also uses petrol for thousands, if not millions of generators which Ghana doesn't use cause they have a more stable electricity supply.
