In the UK, there is the MOBO Awards (Music of black origins) If the African continent can organise such an award, it would make a lot of sense. Times are changing and this is the age of the internet, if it picks up it would expose the real content of African music to the world.
However if Africans think they can muscle the grammy institution into bowing to their demands, well that is never gonna happen. The grammy is an American thing and they will determine the conditions and criteria for selecting winners so if an artist needs a grammy , he or she may need certain adjustments to make, take a critical look at the previous winners and find out what they did right. It's not about sitting back and lamenting about "bias" on the part of grammy organisers, there is no perfect awards criteria in the world, there must be some politics involved.
You Nigerians are being selfish, afrobeat isn't the only African sound and just because it's popular, it doesn't mean it will always win because there are a variety of African sounds from all corners of Africa.
Not everything is about afrobeats when it comes to Africa and Nigeria isn't the entire continent of Africa… Why can't you just be happy for South Africa for winning? Tyla is an African and the song "water" is a fusion of house and amapiano… Even the Americans have confirmed how the song was more popular than those other nominated African songs in America throughout the year 2023.
Amapiano is also an African sound, get that into your head.
If we can do Afronation, we can also do Afrogrammy. The so-called R&B is no longer in the African soul even though most Africans can still relate to their r&b.Slow jam.Reggai was never all conquering as it was too samey then.
Nice update ❤
New music on the 9/2/2024.

Africa should have their own African culturural Grammy for Africa if not the whites will take it over because the whites always want to be superior & can't accept Africa to be above them in anything.
Don't mind Ghanaians bcos they don't see the future, they are only jealousing Nigerians of their progress. I want Nigerians to know that Ghanaians don't love, they are only giving eyes love, not real love . They accept them of our talant & progress but they don't really want us to progress . We Nigerians love them but they don't.
Imagine if the situation have been the opposite way to know how Ghanaians will treat us. Ghanaians always want to be superior over Nigerians but since it's not that way so they just hate us with passion bcos of our talent with our prosperity.
I really like your program , your talent & they way you always defend you country Nigeria with truth facts without being biased.
My brother, we must not seek validation from the western world 🌎, why not promote awards organized by Africa, we built Afrobeats without the rest of the world, we can do it with our award in Afrobeats, please look at the shady deals, they pulled all our best artists in one group and allowed a one hit girl whose music doesn’t sound like African music but rather sound like pop songs and gave her the award, those people have an agenda of pulling down afrobeats, we must ignore their awards. Our musicians put in 100% promotions and performances to Grammy awards neglecting the Africa and Nigeria awards.
Exactly we should talk our story, not answering yes sir as others which are satisfied of anything the foreigner says, thanks for your analysis
Those African artists knew exactly what they signed themselves up for, they knew that the Grammy was about your own peers in the industry voting based on an opinion. The Grammy is not about how popular you are or how far reaching your music is, how much records you sell, how great your songs are, it's about the industry people's opinions when they vote, that's it. So they were well informed when they sent their music in to be judged. Now they are upset because somehow they feel entitled. I repeat the Grammys is an American award show and they have every right to do as they please.if you don't like their rules then go and create your own award ceremony and make your own rules.
My brother, Africans can stick together, but the Ghanian music Industry industry will never cooperate.
The Grammy is their stuff, it's an American award show, they have every right to conduct how they please. How can you dictate to them about their own award ceremony. What Africans need to do is cherish their own awards. The sad reality when it comes to such things, is you now have some Africans saying we need to focus on the headies award show. Only because they feel the Grammys did them wrong, now they want to patronise the headies. So African award shows are only good enough in their eyes when all else fails, it's the last result, they look at anything to do with Africa as crap, useless, garbage, a waste of time, not worth it, not prestigious, that's how some Africans feel about their own, everything.
I am releasing a new song on the 9th of this month.
Grammy cares about what they want not what we want. They do things base on the kind of attention they want fir the awards.
