@mercuryman1250

Yeah they are very talented and shouldn't want to be validated over here. Be different from us

@Derrty-DANCE

They should’ve been stop that they have their own F country smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

@Southernview3k

Africa don't need grammy as validation of Africa success

@Silverbackugx

Do you really expect Africans to support and invest in Africans..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@EricMensah-w2w

Grammy is an American award that has extended to the rest of the world, but primarily setup for American artistes.

@katlegoloveslife

Beautiful Ify with valid points. We need to have our own platforms into which our talents feed, so that the world comes to Africa instead of Africa going to the world. The reason Africa is being featured so much lately is because of the cultural diversity that it brings to their dying platforms.

@josephmwamlima2377

Final something I agree with the people of this channel

@karabomoyahalive7823

In the south we have samas

@InvisibleGunner

Yes.

@QuatMan

Yep. The West clearly has better talent and doesnt want to see them.

@PakandeKebe

African artists should do whatever is beneficial to them and black people from the diaspora shouldn't tell our artists what to do when it comes to their careers

@BeeBee-wu1fz

Yes, do both, I'm sure the black diaspora would love to participate in something like that.

@hrhi2874

Who be this Ify girl sef…. we dey look am with side eye? hmmmmm

@mikeblack7876

Just dont forget and get uppity remember who created what. And never act like you are better than american blacks like you love to do. We built this house. Period

@mobilemworks

Tough it is important for us to seek appropriateness in music, 'Western Validation', ain't it. It is more 'Appropriate' for us to ASSUME our place at the table. And reeducate ourselves. Especially our Youth on "WHO" the originators really were. Instruments which were built. When and are still being used today. The Genres. Still in existence today. The types music entities, from Choirs to Operas to Clubs and Bars. The Blues, Rock. There is 'NO-PLACE' in music BP have not been, 1st. Created or originated. Nowhere. So. The first thing to do is, 'Assume' our place. Next, a 'Massive', Self-Reeducation.

@TigerBrownTiger

To Nigerians the west is their standard of what is right. It no leap of the imagination to see why they want the US to say you are ok. How long have they been under the US influence at the political level?

@mobilemworks

Great report. And WELCOME Ms Ify Igwe, to the Family 😊!

@cedricmilliner123

Hey Greetings Famalay" Africa 🌍 AFRO BEAT/FUSION Running Things WORLDWIDE" Africa Also Needs To CREATE There OWN Award Shows As Well It's All Good Enjoy Peace 🎤 ✌🏿

@isaacsgeorge1775

Seeking demonic white supremacy acceptance never ends well. Facts.

@VesperJester

Yes. Because you Africans and Caribbeans need to create your own award shows and leave ours alone. 🤷🏾‍♀️

@OddDudeSays

Nigeria should follow the K-pop path. During the late 1990s – 2000s, Korean music slowly spread throughout Asia ONLY. And continued to strengthen its popularity in Asia. It was so strong that when a Western musician wanted to perform in Asia, they had to acknowledge/collaborate with Korean artists.
THEN came youtube and one explosive hit, GANGNAM STYLE!!!!
After that, Korea pushed harder and HARDER into the West: BTS, Blackpink, and more.

Nigeria, first dominate Africa. Dominate so much, that when the world thinks about African music, what they're really thinking about is Nigerian music.
And then come up with that one explosive hit!!!

@shalawamy9903

Move away from Western culture people. Africans should WAKE UP! Fake hair, western clothing, skin bleaching EVERYTHING!

@leonjohnson1824

Judging by sone of the comments i suggest we mind our own FBA business.

@millionairemaine8901

Black people love white validation. It is what it is.

@AfricanCocoa-i1g

Nigerians want to be from the western side of the world so bad. Nigerians are wonna-bes to the fullest.

@patrickbrowne4606

Blacks across the diaspora should stop seeking western (or white) validation. Deserving black American artists have lost out for YEARS at the Grammy Awards. Just look at what happened years ago when they gave TAYLOR SWIFT the Grammy for album of the year over BEYONCE. If all of the top black artists all over the globe were to support an award show that fairly recognized their work and they stopped going to shows (like the Grammys) that didn’t, that would be great!

@PerfectOkugbo

As a Nigerian myself i am happy we have our own Nigerian reporter in the ADNC

@jnjolisane9840

African musicians, stop cheapening yourselves by seeking Western validation. Stop enriching Westerners by handing your talent and creative power over to them.

@normanmclean6039

Keep your eyes and ears open be careful to and make your own award platform

@MsE711

The white man’s ice is always colder 🤷🏾‍♂️

@sgm2463

Soon they will say b03rs invented afro beat

Btw we had mobos, they took control

@1NatureGod

Americans need to stop to tells us african what we should do we do whatever we want

@ChrystalClear

Yes they absolutely should stop seeking Western validation.

@tghhhd301

Nigerians control African music space and have the strongest entertainment export. You can’t blame the Grammys

@kabifest8897

Nigerians over the years is the number one country that is selling African cultures through movie, music, literature/play. Wriring, Nigerian contents cut across, everything they arw showcasing is about Nigerian African culture

@kabifest8897

There are standard in everything on earth ,just like in football, African countries have their local league , champions League,but we all know the reason our people prefer playing in europe .if you don't develop your own to meet world standard you will always follow others .. Nigerians over the years is the number one country that is selling African cultures through movie, music, literature/play. Writing, Nigerian contents cut across, everything they are showcasing is about Nigerian African culture… There is no harm in projecting your own culture at global stage, Grammy is a brand known world-wide

@skyking3210

yes please we all need to move away and stop enriching them at what we do exclusively better
