NEWEY NEWS! | Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard REACT to Adrian Newey's Red Bull exit

After days of speculation, on Wednesday it was announced that Adrian Newey will be leaving Red Bull in 2025. Arguably the greatest F1 designer of all-time, in 19 years with the team he has helped them win seven F1 Drivers’ and six Constructors’ Championship titles.

In a statement announcing his departure, Adrian thanked his ‘close friend…

  1. this is just my opinion of course so shoot me down if im talking out of turn, my opinion is simple, Adrian newey has said the lure of Ferrari is strong regardless of what point in your career your at, and that he has came close to joining Ferrari on at least 4 occasions if memory serves me correctly. and Hamilton has joined them next season so honestly the possibility of working with Ferrari and working with Lewis Hamilton to achieve a 8th WDC is a massive pull for him. and i think the political struggles of red bull currently is not something Adrian newey likes. so conclusion all that combined i think because of the politics of red bull he will join Ferrari and work with Lewis Hamilton, lets all be honest the man is a masterclass in F1 car design any constructor would be lucky to have him.

  2. I think EJ knows that AN is retiring. You can hear it. Imagine Newey going to Ferrari?! What a huge challenge. AN also is looking quite a lot older. Maybe AUDI is a better move, but it sounds like Adrian Newey needs some time out.

  3. @F1ForSuccess question for DC… when you were driving for McLaren, the team moved from Bridgestone tires to Michelin tires in 2002, what was the difference between the 2 brand? Pros and cons on both and which one did you prefer? Thanks

  4. The idea that Adrian Newey would work for Eddie Jordan, especially for a paltry half million…..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. David needs to stop poking the bear (Eddie), this is a good podcast and it could all go to shit because of way to many jokes, digs, jibes at Eddie's expense.Yes it does go both ways at times, although DC goes overboard, just my opinion.☘ :}

  6. Adrian Newey is the Charlie Watts of formula one.
    All the superstars out front making all the noise and he just sits in the background quietly keeping everything in tune.

  7. RB17. Goes in to production early 2025 newey designed it so would want to over see the production of RB17 its his reputation in its success,,,

    So I would think it obviously that's shat he would be doing 2025

  8. if everyone says that newey is the greatest f1 designer ever what happened between 2014 to 2023 when mercedes trounced everyone with their car design

  9. If he went to Ferrari to work with Hamilton he would go right down in my opinion. I would think much better of him if he retired and had a hobby job designing the odd special.

  10. I once saw Eddie Jordan. It was an average week day at some time not long following the turn of the century. I still then practiced as a lawyer and Eddie was sat in 'concerned interlocution' with just some not so flamboyant shirt on his back and the location was in the cafe across the road from the main entrance to The Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand. Whilst we were both in the same room only on separate business the one remarkable observation aside from this being 'Eddie' was the profusion of underarm sweat then staining his shirt. I honestly don't think I have ever exhibited so much 'cold sweat' on anyone either before or since then? Goodness knows what Eddie looks like after one of his cycle rides – something I did 'stacks of' over in France and in the mountains from the late 1980s until the early 2000s. Here today I think we can call Eddie "The Wise Old Elf" (a Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom reference). Eddie did let the cat out of the bag. Adrian is just turning 65 and he's worked hard and under pressure and most successfully for all his working life. Here today the advice is properly to enjoy the more gentle side of life and RETIRE. Well done, Adrian. As with Eddie and David you have helped shape motor sports. I love this cheap, grunge and grass roots approach to reporting because F1 has today 'lost its hear' and those who love the sport as we all have need to work to bring it back down a peg or three. Otherwise, and as I have sadly found with this one category: When the fun stops, STOP.

  11. I would say Alpine, that would fit in a silly season like this…. But I think Ferrari. There is also a team at RB around him, he didn't doing it all by himself.
