Ah that was on Lateral recently!!
Who made the article, why Kalimantan write as the whole Borneo?
Kalimantan is part of Borneo.
Hello, sir, is this still an ongoing development? I read another source claiming that this Hangul-ization of the script had been abandoned years ago.
You mean there are whole conflicts going on right now between writing systems?
so cool😊
Headache inducing.
I saw a proposition for quechua to switch to hangul one time but never found much info on it
Balik kampung

Why didnt they make their own script?
What a boast to Korean cultural confidence!
Geoguesser players will definitely have aloooot of fun guessing this place

looked on geoguessr and didnt found one script in 15 min
¸not useful for geoguessr
Hangeul is a thing of beauty, once you know the alphabet you can correctly pronounce words without knowing them because the sounds the characters make are consistent and follow rules! I've had so many kids ask why words are spelled or said the way they are and all I can respond is "English is three languages in a trenchcoat that breaks it's rules more than it follows them, if it were up to me I'd say spell it how it sounds but we have to just memorise all the words basically" and that's not very reassuring lol
GeoGuessr players will not like this
it's the same with arab melayu where the alphabet is in arabic but the language is from melayu/malay (indonesian local language) 🙂 i was taught in school
Lowkey so cool
This is really interesting. It's great that they were able to find a way to preserve their language and cultural identity!
Geoguessr meta!!
i really wish japanese had created something like hangul instead of using chinese ideograms plus hiragana and katakana
I just met the implosives /ɓ/ and /ɗ/ but I would die for them
I am Indonesian. I just know this by watching this shoet video. Cool…
Sulawesi is a funny name
Sulavesi is Finnish for the water that comes from melting ice or snow
I got this script in North Sulawesi today.
The script was introduced in 2009 and encountered significant logistic and political hurdles. The Indonesian government wants to protect and preserve indigenous languages using the Latin alphabet. There were not sufficient number of teachers to teach Hangul or the Korean writing system. As of today, this way of writing is simply not actively in use. Today they use the Latin script to write the language. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Isn't this just because they are Koreaboo?
So what I'm hearing is that the Korean Alphabet is the best one to use for codes, cyphers, fictional languages, etc. because it's super versatile.
Using Indonesian language as a national language is a brilliant move by our founding fathers/mothers.
Indonesian language is basically Malay, a small etnic group in Sumatra, who are less than 5% of Indonesian. Very small compares to Javanese, the biggest etnic groups that makes 50% of Indonesian population. But since many Malays were traders, their language was used in many places in Indonesian archipelago as a universal language to communicate between different etnic groups.
By using a minority language as a national language instead of the dominant Javanese language, Indonesia managed to avoid envy and dissapointment from hundreds of smaller etnic groups that could led to disintegration of the country like what happened in former Yugidlavia.
Bahasa Indonesia Language? Lol..Bahasa means language. You basically said "Indonesian language language" 😂
