There’s a black book store in the Old East Durham community.

Hispanic women make Hispanic men feel welcome and as a result those Hispanic men are there for their women. Black women (not all) on the other hand do not make black men feel welcome. It’s that simple. Of course black men didn’t help them.

I lived in Durham during the 90s and frequented both The Know Bookstore (Durham, NC) and Blacknificent Bookstore (Raleigh, NC). It’s a shame that both stores are now closed. Rest in power Brother Bruce Bridges (The Know Bookstore), a man who not only owned the store, but also gave Black cultural classes every Thursday at his location. I learned so much going to those bookstores.✊🏽
