It is historically ignorant to read Nefertari’s diplomatic reference to herself as “Your Sister” in her letter to the Hittite queen as literal. It was commonplace in the Bronze Age Mesopotamian, Canaanite, and Hittite Near East for royal figures to address one another as semi-divine “siblings.”
Nefertari’s children, incidentally, did not have approximately 90 “step-siblings.” Those were HALF-brothers and sisters.
This is a *bizarre* documentary. The narrative sounds like something from the 1970s, and all those shots of Ann Baxter from Hollywood epics…ugh.
