Eastern European countries that use the soviet gauge railways are risking invasion as Russia can use the railways all the way to their countries. Switch to european standards for your own safety.
It's amazing how US asked for invocation of article 5 on twin tower attacks and then eventual invasion of Afghanistan. But somehow gave no hoot to the NATO alliance members with regards to withdrawal of the troops. That sure left a bitter taste in the mouth of alliance members.
But remind Putin, "didnt you asked to join NATO when you first spoke personally to US president Clinton"? Maybe it will remind him that he himself tried to be part of NATO.
So, how come NATO didn't prevent war between Greece and Turkey over Cyprus? Both were NATO members.
So, NATO has prevented war between the US and the UK?
So, if NATO is to 'prevent war between sovereign states', what's NORTH ATLANTIC to do with that?
It's THE EU, not NATO that's prevented war between France and Germany and Germany with Belgium and Britain. That's what's triggered global war before, several times.

Well lately there have been rumblings that China is afraid of a NATO expansion into the Western Pacific.
However once again would that be possible if the nation's in the area near China we're not worried about China being a military threat to them?
In order to prevent NATO from expanding 1 inch Eastward so to speak we I suppose would have had to tell the other countries that were interested in joining the alliance that we cannot do so and however they would be free to create their own alliance and perhaps we'd be free to support them to some extent.
I suppose in retrospect I actually did wonder when everything started falling apart in the Warsaw pact Nations whether or not that meant that NATO could kind of like this band because I mean we could use a lot of that money for other things.
But apparently the former Warsaw pact nations were afraid of Russia coming back in the future and with what's happening in Ukraine I suppose there is cause to see that as a possibility.
Yeah that is rather telling that a lot of the former Warsaw pact Nations basically were chopping at the bit to join the NATO alliance.
Those Nations had the experience of living under the Soviet system and I guess that they are rather remission of wanting to rejoin that or have that same system in another form forced down them by Russia.
