Pay yourself first. Be intentional and deliberate to financially parachute. My dad is toxic and I cut him off a while ago. I used to dish money to him and he misused money in equal measure and became entitled. All manner of bullying and emotional blackmail fell flat. He cursed me by telling me that when he dies I should not attend nor hold his casket nor will I inherit anything from him. I am emancipated now and I have moved on. He wanted to make me an ATM for his new "wife" and alcoholism- drinks like a fish-which I had the testicular fortitude to categorically refuse. My wife and I and our 2 children are doing well financially as a family unit. I am at peace and harmony. I do not need any of his pittance inheritance- he can keep it. Love your content which is universal to Africans.

After moving abroad and refusing to be financially manupilated by my mother, she asked me to refund all the money she used raising me and all the breast milk. This were not the worst words i heard from her. Finally, i blocked her and most of my familys member., its been five years and i am never going back. I am much happier. I CHOOSE ME.
Maybe I can help someone saying this. Am from the WestI Indies. Came to Canada with parents n other 3 sibling. Tried to work the Western system to have white house a picket fence. I slaved in Corporate world for over 40 years. Did not save a dime. Did not get inheritance when both parents died in Canada.Even when my younger brother died 2 years ago n left me $3,000 i did not invest anything i had too much payday loans to pay off n a con man as a lover n gambler. after my divorces. Sometimes I worked 2 jobs when.my.marriages ended n I got nothing. At retirement I tried call center work part time. Still did not save a dime. At 60 when illness took me n I thought my 2 children would be there for me I got the shock of my life. I was even insulted by a granddaughter. Having a good man never happened all were abusers. I got depressed n felt what is the point living I fell through the cracks. I tried gambling a bit n won nothing.more than $200 after many tries. When my con man won i got nothing. Got rid of him.Suddenly all this brought a spiritual awakening saw a reader who told me do you think the people who have houses and cars are happy? They are stressed out. Don't look at yourself as a nobody u r a good soul. Just work on your health, affirm the right man you need in your life, drop the abusive, stressed out folks, friends or family n do your self care. This lifted me up n from watching YouTube n reading.I learned that this is awakening time not sleeping time.Forget work or creativity. I am on benzopine for over 10 years now. I eventually chose IFA n had dafa . My depression is gone. I have a caring Babalawo or let's say a main one n others as friends. Isefa was mentioned to me. I did it n saw my life from birth. It is the glue that keeps my feet on the ground n know myself n nature more, my faults, how to have right friends n so on. Thank you Olodumare. A higher life with purpose is great. Ase

You honestly can’t trust anyone that includes parents, family, and friends. When your on the same level as someone it’s not an issue. Once you start to become successful and are no longer on their level that’s when their hidden self come to light.
I had a family member show me their true colors once my Etsy shop started generating sale. Yes I was generating sales but as a new business it takes a while to actually break even and start generating cash flow. Needless to say I broke that relationship off because of how malicious my family member actions were towards me. Imagine if their were no laws in place I’m pretty sure I would be dead because of jealousy. The Bible is an amazing book depicting human behavior and the story of the jealous brothers and Joseph will continue to a thought I keep. I will never put it past anyone. At this point, my success is for my joy and I don’t need to show myself approve to others only myself.
