When the Somali guy said to you that “gaal” means white in Somali I busted out laughing🤣 Many Somalis call white people “gaal” but it doesn’t mean white it means “disbeliever”. Cause many white people are not Muslim. “Cadaan” is the right word and only word for white in Somali. Even at 30:48 when you asked them about how often they see white tourists, he translated to them with the word “cadaan” and not “gaal”. To chew “khat” is to get more caffeine to your body only nothing you get onto your body or any effects, these people choose chewing “khat” is to awake more and get fitness and energy to their body for all day. Chewing khat is drinking more caffeine to your body That is all. Its. Not. Like A cocaine. Or Its not an alchol its not a Maruana. Just these people like having fan an eat caffeine only. Anybody who is a foreign without guards are at risk because in Somalia kidnapping and ransoms happen. Even for Somali's who live abroad that come to visit should be careful too. I had a family member who was Somali that went and got kidnapped and held for ransom. Wherever you go, you have to be careful. But Somali is getting better.

Even if your ethnically somali you will get criticism. My cousin is born in the uk. When she came to Somalia she wasn't used to the language and the culture.
