Happy New Year yall, I missed you last week!!! Hope your 2024 is off to a good start :') <3
I totally agree on tribal print/southwestern bc I have been seeing cowboy stuff EVERYWHERE
As an az native, the people ive talked to on reservations are SUPER excited about southwest becoming popular. Ive talked to mutiple people from hopi, yavapi, apachi, Cherokee, etc., tribes and they appreciate people appreciating their culture. Its weird to me that a white woman with no association to native american culture is calling this trend wrong… maybe talk to some actual native american individuals about it
In 2002 I was 12 lol 😝
grunge has already been back if you lived in nyc lmao
The definition of prep is evolving to mean "girly pop Justice-esque tween fashion" so id say call it eclectic grandma 🙂
ripped jeans have never stopped with teens, i see them vry often at school. i even saw a pair of those like. crazy ripped jeans that have the entireeee front of the leg ripped out😭
teens never really did stop wearing ripped jeans. I love every pair of mine
a few things i've noticed or that I think would be natural progressions from earlier trends that are my personal trend predictions for this year:
– black as the main neutral, moving further from early 2020s browns and beiges
– more sophisticated reds – burgundy, maroon, etc
– on that note, more fun pops of color – i think purple could be big
– waistcoats, corsets, LACE etc in more casual outfits: adding structured and historical elements is going to keep being big. the vivienne westwood influences are going to be strong especially since there's a move away from minimalism into grungier looks
– hair accessories – i think scarves and hats are a natural progression from bows, including summery versions
as a teenager ripped jeans never left and flannel is also still a thing
Lmao I've been drawn to southwestern/tribal patterns, grunge, and flannels since the early 2010s and still have stuff from then that I still wear today. Crazy that if you are fortunate enough to still fit a piece clothing for 10 years and keep it all that time, you become "vintage" and in style.
i actually dont like blue, really the only blue i wear are blue jeans lol
The sounds effects when u were talking about tribal print/moccasins made me laugh out loud
As an older teen who HATES wearing ripped jeans, they make up almost all available options
for ripped jeans a lot of the sort of mainstream people stopped wearing ripped jeans however my friend who is more grungy and alternative never stopped wearing her distressed baggy black jeans. I also never stopped wearing my jeans which aren’t ripped but distressed at the bottom and sort of falling apart after owning them so long, some of this is practicality because we don’t have much money but some of it is a rebellion against the kids our age dressing like grown adults growing to brunch and business meetings
The only fashion channel I have seen so far that has used different size bodies and different skin tones in their examples. Thank you. ❤
Yes, handmade items! My moment to shine! (As a knitter/crocheter)
u look like Bree!
As a teen I think ripped jeans have never left 😭 at least for younger teens they havent.
I am a teen and no, I don’t wear ripped jeans
Gosh the feeling of being drawn to something before it’s a “thing”! I remember getting so annoyed by this in the early 2010’s as something I enjoyed rose into fashion, as I was simply too cool for mainstream trends(🙄) lol now as I’ve “maturéd”, I just wear what I love regardless and let myself be inspired by trends~ but I love the way you put that it’s just a higher fashion power bringing the collective together 💞 bc it really do be like that
