  1. The solution is not telling people to be mindful, the solution is to report this to the Kenya authorities or their airlines. Some kind of nonsense people we are having amongst us in this Africa

  2. Some years ago, as a student, I had a similar experience in Harare. I deliberately chose to fly Air Zimbabwe on the SA to Harare leg of a flight from Europe in order to support the local airline. When leaving Zimbabwe, they refused to board me without payment of a surcharge of 50usd. A surcharge I had not been informed of when booking the flight. Only Air Zim passengers were affected as there was a dispute between Air Zim and the Airports Authority. It was really disgusting and disappointing, and put me off booking a flight with Air Zimbabwe ever again. I didn't have the usd, but an angel of a lady paid it for me, a complete stranger called Mrs Samuyarira. Otherwise, I would have missed the flight and consequently all subsequent flights. A passing airport worker, he looked like a cleaner or porter, even had the audacity to stop working and join in the argument, ridiculing me and stating that I would pay that money or I would sleep in that airport. He was so overjoyed by the prosepect. I will never forget that man's malice nor that lady's extreme kindness. Needless to say an airline that otherwise gave me excellent service lost a potential lifetime customer.

  3. Going to Nairobi, I left a bag on the plane. They wouldn't let me go get it, ..security, so one of them did it.
After returning it, he shook me down with "don't you think that's worth a $20 tip?"
He was just doing his job and I had just gotten off a 24hr flight with my service animal. Welcome to Kenya.

  4. Corruption is horrible. Itโ€™s not unique to one country or one continent. Im a black American and experienced corruption in Accra and Kumasi airport in Ghana and while driving on the roads in Nicaraguaโ€ฆall left a bad taste in my mouth. I say America just as bad because all of our corruption is legalized and called TAXES ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  5. Not just there, it happens All over Africa. It Why they Have A Continent and are Not the Masters of it! An African American woman, git off the plane in Ghana, and most the money she brought with her for a short stay, was All But Gone Before she Even Left the airport! The Ghanaians Charged her For Everything, Lied about cost, Lied About her Visa, one thing after the next.

  6. That happened to him because he is reaping what his ancestors did during the transatlantic slave trade. Arabs were the first group of people to enslave us. He Reaping what his ancestors sowed.๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. You fail to address this man's harrowing ordeal. Talking about your trip to Dubai doesn't negate the fact that this man felt done in or that there's rampant corruption at the JK airport. Correcting him about the names of your airports is neither here nor there. The fact is the airport at issue is in Kenya. Frankly, it shows immaturity on your part. Corruption in Kenya doesn't equal corruption in Africa.

  8. Airports set the tone for me. I know immediately whether i can revisit that country or not. My worst experience was in the main airport in Nigeria. It left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. The corruption and disorganization for a connecting flight was insane.
