  1. It is funny how some people see this project as anti-Ibo project when the Minister of works who is spearheading the project is an Ibo man. And the project will is to link the West to the East and by extension Igbo land. I can't understand the argument. But hey, it is Nigeria. We somehow always turn everything to tribal issue. Where I live here in Northern Virginia United States, a whole Marriott hotel was demolished because the state want to expand an existing road. Here we are arguing whether landmark should be affected or not when the business was not demolished but we be impacted by the construction. So what about all other property owners across the state whose houses have been affected for decades because of one road construction or the other?

  2. Massive projects like coastal highway are done in countries with healthy economy.
This is not a priority in Nigeria at this time.
Nigeria is in coma and needs life support. Dilapidated infrastructures across the country. Poor health care. Poor educational facilities. No electricity. No jobs. No pipe borne water. Unimaginable insecurity across the country. Jail breaks everywhere. Ethnic and religious crisis. Herders/farmers clashes. Regional and community disputes . Political parties and contestants in courts across the country.
Military and paramilitary institutions in conflicts.
    Judiciary inefficiency and corruption.
    Criminal politicians and dealers.
    Executive branch embezzlers .
Aid and abating agencies and gangsters everywhere.
    Contracts awarded to invisible contractors.
    Excessive theft from government coffers.
    Zero accountability and transparency.
    Zero liability and punishment.
The audacity of the elite class to steal with impunity. The list is unlimited. So let's beware for Nigeria is bleeding profusely.

  3. It is always southeasteners and then those usless bini people in the south south, the demons we have in this country whom do not want the progress of the country. I can bet you that if this project was in the north, no northerner will condem it. It is always southeasteners aka ndigbo people and their edo state counterparts in evil trying to set the south back because of their greed, wickedness, envy and mischief. Any of you that have opposed this project and after construction, you ply the coastal road, your car must tumble and you won't come out of it. Amen.

  4. If you get the coastal highway done and yet no regular power supply the much talked about economic benefits will be a mirage .In addition , if the other dilapidated federal highways that are supposed to be linked up with this highway in question ,remain in their present bad shape , the whole essence of the coastal highway would have been defeated .

  5. This is federal government pp arrangement, President Tinubu's son involvement is already a bad market to the country.
One of federal government projects, money collected by individuals involved and last, last abandoned as usual.
Repairs the old non motorable before embarking on new once.

  6. My only problem is,the 15 trillion naira cost of constructing the coastal road is enough to link lagos deep seaport to east west road in warri delta state, through ekitipupa in ondo state and construct a train line as well instead of constructing just a coastal road for that cost..

  7. Stomach infrastructure or ethnicity has brought out the foolishness of hitherto respected people like Wole Soyinka, Murray Bruce, Jide Otitoju, Daniel Bwala, Laborious Oshoma etc on national issues. What an irony!

  8. So Pres.Tinubu should listen to these Self-Centered Politicians/People from certain parts of the Country who are asking for a delay of a South-South major Road Poject that has been in the Waiting for more than 40 years. Do they want us to Wait another Decade for it to Start?. Kudos to Pres. Tinubu and South-South people (Ben Bruce etc) who are coming out to Defend the Road Project.

  9. the coastal project is a commendable one for Nigeria and the current administration. But i am of the opinion that whosoever is in power there should be transparency in governance.

  10. As much as I support the Lagos calabar road this man is not making any sense regarding the federal roads running thru the state. E.g lagos/Abeokuta exp, If you are assigning them to the state do it openly and officially and let us know it is now the states responsibility , we have never heard that narrative officially.

  11. Nigeria deserve a bad leader imagine we have a president thats bringing development still people are complaining can u see d reasons most of dis political steal money without development because most Nigerians reason like chicken

  12. The point is, Nigeria is far behind in road infrastructure. Condemning new road is not going to solve those problems quickly. We need as much modern road as we can afford to boost the economy and standard of living. There is no merit of the project far outweigh the demerits. We can not continue to be shortsighted. Nigeria need massive infrastructure and that is what the federal government is doing right now.

  13. Hearing the number of years they claim the project will last is a sign that it is a scam. This type of project take decades. These people don't even know what they are into. We have hundreds of important roads 5hat are death traps today and no one is paying attention.

  14. I understood the arguments, nobody is saying it’s not a nice idea but not at this time we have several dilapidated roads, food and electricity shortages, there are so much pressing issues

  15. Can the PDP point to any project of benefit to Nigeria after 16yrs in office? isn't it because the projects they initiate are designed never to be finished. Atiku right now wonders why the bid was not thrown open so that he will introduce his shell companies with criminally minded foreign contractors to bid and continue with the never to be finished projects that characterized the PDP.

  16. Some few Nigerian's inspite of their education, their foreign travels are so caged by sectional bigots,it is funny,no wonder some sections of the country can't move out of predominant, archaic reasoning that will not take them anywhere, the world has gone beyond, cultural, tribal, sentiments, your brother or your ethnic person might not put food on your table, all those selfish saints, are only concerned about their political fortune and family interest, anyone against this project is nothing but a hypocritical unserious patriot, who is a high risk to Nigerian's collectively, they are the worst enemies of Nigeria, masquerading as saints, biggest devil in disguise,if we must move forward we should be thinking about what will benefit out children tomorrow not any clueless,15 century, old-fashioned politician without capacity, with misrepresentations and falsehood,no objective, transparent and constructive ideas that can translate to a better tomorrow for Nigerians!
