The ruling party in Mozambique is set for another term – extending its nearly half a century in power. Frelimo has led the east African nation since it gained independence from Portugal in 1975. But generational change is in prospect. The front-runner Daniel Chapo is expected to be the first president born since the end of colonial rule.

  1. The People of Mozambique Are crying for change because the 10 years of president nyusi worsened the situation in the country. we became more poor, people don't have the things like water, energy, food, transportation, schools, hospitals etc. FRELIMO MUST GO
The elections are never fair, just and free.
VENANCIO MONDLANE IS THE WINNER OF THE 2024 ELECTIONS

  2. Frelimo wants to stay in power at all costs. They will drive the country to war because they can't let the people choose for themselves. Venancio is the leader of the people. I can say even 90% of the voters voted for him. Just ask around and if people aren't afraid you'll realise everyone is supporting Venรขncio.

  3. Frelimo has been claim victory before the date of election. What do you expect our reaction on this claim of victory which the people of Mozambique has never voted Frelimo?
Leave us alone to solve our own problems.

  4. This election has been rigged.
There has been irregulation. We want the international observors reviews all claims before they make any declaration on this process.
There are fraud still going underground in other polling stations and international reporters were not allowed to be following the counting of votes.

  5. The elections were not fair, lots of robbery and pole filling with, the logistics constraints were miticulously orchestrated to limit voting in the points they knew they would lose tremendously, people's names missing in their voting station, people voting using other's numbers, Podemos missing in some voting documents – specially outside Mozambique, etc etc etc. Please report it as it is

  6. Dear DW, the name is pronounced "new-see" (Nyusi) – we know you know how to say it correctly, you do it in Asia, South America etc, "Now-you-say" for Nyusi is quite insulting really, try better

  7. Dear international friends.

Mozambique needs help. These guys in frelimo have their own agenda. Make the poor poorer and continue to stay rich. There's lots of stories of corruption and election fraud. To make matters worse, there are no jobs here unless you've got what we call "costas quentes" or rely solely on nepotism to get a job.

Very sad what's happening here. Police officers, doctors and teachers are all exhausted and mad. They made promises of an increased salary for all public sector workers and so far it's not working. Sometimes people receive their salaries a day or 2 late.

It's so unfortunate that we have leaders corrupting the country in this way. I really do love this country and am not planning to ever leave here. I love my people. I love my family and I love our wonderful beaches.

We can honestly just pray and hope justice prevails and the future of our grandchildren is secure.โค
